 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. LASSA FEVER OUTBREAK IN RIVERS STATE,CLAIMED 2 LIVES.

                             Rivers state Government has just confirmed the outbreak of LASA Fever in the state,which has claimed the lives of two persons so far.The River state Commissioner for Health,Dr.Theophilous Odageme who confirmed the outbreak today in a statement enjoined the members of the public not to panic because the state government had taken a proactive measure to contain an outbreak.The statement urged members of the public to report any of such symptoms as persistenthigh fever,stooling,vomiting,bleeding from the nose,mouth and anus.He advised members of the public to maintain good hygiene and quickly report any case of Lassa Fever to the nearest Health Centre or Hospital urgent attention.One more photo below.

COUPLES IN CHINA,NO LONGER NEED AN APPROVAL FROM THE GOVERNMENT TO HAVE A SECOND CHILD.

                    A document released by the central government and ruling Communist Party today tuesday in Beijing said families would be able to independently arrange child-bearing under the new policy,without applying for approval.The National Health and Family Planning Commission had said in October that couples would still need approval at first.The document released said the implementation of the policy would begin this year,without giving a date.A source said the two child policy was itself a relaxation of the one child policy that led to forced abortions and infanticides for decades.The source further said ''Beijing hopes to reduce the pressure of the ageing population.About 90 million families may qualify for the new two child policy''. KANO PILLARS FOOTBALL CLUB,SACKED 10 PLAYERS.

             Idris Malikawa,Media Officer of the Club {Kanu Pillars Football Club} made this known in an interview with NAN on Tuesday in Kano.Malikawa said the 10 player were sacked based on medical ground and poor performance.''The management of the club felt the only way to make headway in the plan to have a goodseason in the NPFL is to weed out 10 aged and unproductive players.This is to make way for new boys that will strengthen the team''.He said the team had already resumed training ahead of this year's campaign,assuring that transfer formalities would be completed on time.He further said that the club would recruit new players to beef up the team in some critical areas''.One more photo below.
