 INEC reports 97% BVAS success rate in Ondo guber poll The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State, Oluwatoyin Babalola has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the Ondo  governorship election. His Nigerian passport was returned to him on October 21, 2024, after he filed a motion to reduce his sentencing.  Court sacks MC Oluomo as NURTW national president ..Reaffirms rival Baruwa as union leader The Court of Appeal has sacked Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). In a ruling that upheld the earlier judgment of the National Industrial Court, the appellate court sacked MC Oluomo and reaffirmed Tajudeen Baruwa as the legitimate leader of the union. Baruwa had assumed office after a properly conducted election held at the union’s headquarters in Abuja. The three-member panel of the Appeal Court dismissed the appeal filed by MC Oluomo’s faction, declaring it devoid of merit. In addition, the court imposed a fine of N100,000 on the appellants, further solidifying Baruwa’s leadership position.  Pogba’s Juve Contract Terminated Despite Doping Ban Reduction Paul Pogba’s Juventus career is over after the Serie A club announced on Friday that the France midfielder’s contract had been terminated even though his doping ban was cut to 18 months on appeal. Pogba will be able to return to competitive football in March after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) chopped last month an initial four-year suspension handed down by the Italian anti-doping authority NADO. Little Ariel Gonzalez’s 34-year-old mother called 911 about 9:10 p.m. Aug. 10 to report the baby was unconscious inside the family’s home on Eagle Ave. near E. 156th St. in the South Bronx.
