 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. KAYODE SALAKO, FOLUKE DARAMOLA'S HUSBAND NAMED LAGOS STATE LABOUR PARTY CHAIRMAN In a bid to strengthen grip on southwest, the National leadership of Labour Party has appointed Mr. Kayode Ezekiel Salako as Lagos State Chairman of the party. In a letter sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the party said the appointment is in consideration of the expiration of tenure of the current Caretaker Committee in Lagos State, vis-à-vis the state of affairs of the party and conscious of the urgent need to reposition the party in the state for effective service, has resolved to appoint a Caretaker Committee for Lagos. The letter which read in part further said, by this appointment, they are expected to provide effective leadership for our Party, by ensuring its growth and development in terms of membership drive, providing a voice for the voiceless, canvassing alternative government policies in line with our philosophy and ideology as well as prepare the party for the ...
