PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. LAGOS STATE GOVT CANCELS RESIT OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST.

                The Lagos State government has announced the cancellation of resit examination of Secondary School Placement Test in the State,according to the Permanent Secretary of the State's Ministry of Education,Mr Adesina Odeyemi. Odeyemi,who disclosed this at the end of a recent meeting of stakeholders in the sector,said the cancellation was necessitated by the fact that most candidates scheduled for the re-write of the examination failed to show up after the government has invested heavily in human and material resources to re-conduct the exercise. He urged parents to groom their children properly for the placement examination since there would no longer be the re-sit of the placement test.                                              The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC today thursday February 16,2017,arraigned one Adetoro Fisayo Femi {a.k.a Bawa Mohammed Sanni} before Justice F.A Odubanjo of the Federal High Court of Ondo State sitting in Akure,on a 6-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence,conspiracy,forgery,uttering of forged documents,retaining the proceed of crime and money laundering. Adetoro however,pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.In view of his plea,prosecution counsel,Oluwatoyin Owodunni prayed the court for a trial date and for the remand of the defendant in prison custody.However,counsel to the defendant,A.O Oyibanji informed the court of a pending application for bail served on the prosecution today.                                                      The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested an 18-year old serial phone thief in Oshodi. The suspect,Sadeeq Wasiu,who had beem imprisoned seven times,was arrested on tuesday after several months of being on the operatives wanted list. Wasiu,alias ''Omo Eiye'',as he is popularly called in Oshodi,was arrested at Oshodi Under-Bridge while trying to escape after snatching an infinix Note  from an undergraduate. Before his arrest,the suspect had been accused of being behind the theft of four phones and two bag robbery incidents in Oshodi. In his confession,Sadeep Wasiu claimed he was released from Potoki Prison,Badagry in January,2017 and had run away from his home in Ikire,Osun State since he was 15 years old. According to him.                 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on February 9,2017 arrested one Benjamin Aduli for offences bordering on criminal breach of trust and obtaining by false pretence. Operatives of the EFCC got wind of his nefarious activities through a petition by one of his victims.According to the petitioner,Aduli claimed that he could ''help source for a loan facility of $30 million in Dubai'' that would be used to finance Fleet farms,a company belonging to the petitioner.Having convinced the potential investor of the ''good deal'',he demanded for a contributory fee of $154,146 which he claimed would be remitted to ABA investment LLC in Dubai as ''a condition for accessing the loan''. Not sensing any foul play,the petitioner paid the said sum to a Micro Finance Bank on the instruction of Aduli,for onward remittance as promised.
