PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. NNPC CANNOT CONTINUE MAKING SUBSIDY PAYMENTS WITHOUT VALID APPROPRIATIONS.-SARAKI.

      Senate President Bukola Saraki wrote on social media few hours ago today that '' As some of you know I spent a lot of time on the issue of fuel subsidies in the 7th Assembly. The important thing we must all understand is that the NNPC cannot continue making subsidy payments without valid appropriations. These payments must be backed by law. This is why, yesterday, the 8th Senate resolved that: 1. The NNPC should stop all the illegal payments without appropriation henceforth; 2. The NNPC, through Mr. President, should make a formal request to the National Assembly for the 2018 fuel subsidy payments; 3. The Federal Republic of Nigeria should pay all marketers their outstanding arrears of subsidy owed in 2017; 4. AGEGE FLY-OVER: LASG RESTRICTS MOVEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS FROM MAY 1ST 2018.

      As part of efforts to deliver the Pen Cinema Bridge on schedule and minimise traffic congestion within the corridor, the Lagos State Government has announced the restriction of vehicular movement at Agege Intersection between Railway crossing and Church Street through Agunbiade Street in Agege. A statement released today by the Ministry of Transportation said the restriction is necessitated by the construction of Precast/Prestressed Concrete for the dual carriage flyover at Pen Cinema junction. It stated further that the traffic diversion will prevent vehicles coming from Ipaja Road towards Ogba from turning left at Oke-Koto but will have to go straight towards Agege Motor Road and take a left turn to connect the alternative route beside Agege Post office to link Moshalashi Alhaja onwards. PRESIDENT BUHARI COMMISSIONED NIGERIAN AIR FORCE REFERENCE HOSPITAL IN BAUCHI YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

      The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday 26 April 2018, commissioned the newly constructed 261 Nigerian Air Force Reference Hospital in Bauchi. The establishment of the medical facility became necessary to specially provide additional medical support for members of the Armed Forces involved in counter insurgency operations in the Northeast. In his welcome address, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, stated that the services of the hospital would also be extended to civilians, which had been the tradition in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). He added that the hospital is part of the efforts of the current NAF leadership to reform the healthcare system of the Service and to support the on-going counter insurgency operations by ensuring the availability of immediate quality medical care to those injured in active service. SCORES OF PASSENGERS KILLED IN FATAL BUS ACCIDENT IN ANAMBRA STATE YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

    Some passengers were killed and many others injured in a fatal bus accident which occurred by 4:30 am in yesterday morning at Azigbo road heading to Amichi in Anambra state. The accident was reported to have caused a gridlock along the highway as the victims were evacuated and taken to the hospital. The cause of the accident according to eyewitnesses was not unconnected to the heavy downpour two night ago.More photos below.

COURT GRANTS SENATOR NWAOBOSHI BAIL TODAY.{PHOTO}.

       Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, April 27, 2018, granted Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, bail on self-recognition.   Nwaoboshi, who was arraigned on April 25, 2018, is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC, for an alleged criminal offence bordering on money laundering and fraud to the tune of N805million. He is charged alongside t wo companies namely : Golden Touch Construction Project Limited and Suiming Electrical Limited. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.  At the last sitting, the judge had deferred ruling on the bail application filed by the counsel to the defendant to today (April 27, 2018).In his ruling today, Justice Idris granted the defendant bail on self-recognizance as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. APPEAL COURT AFFIRMS EFCC'S RIGHTS ON ANDREW YAKUBU'S LOOT TODAY.{MIXED PHOTOS}.

        The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna today, April 27, 2018, affirmed the decision of the Federal High Court Kano, which forfeited in the interim, the money found in a house in Kaduna, allegedly belonging to former Group Managing Director of NNPC, Engineer Andrew YAKUBU. It would be recalled that on the 3rd of February, 2017, operatives of the Commission stormed a house allegedly belonging to the former NNPC boss and  uncovered the sum $9,772,800 (Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand, Eight Hundred Dollars Only) and another £74,000 (Seventy Four Thousand Pounds Sterling) stashed in a fireproof safe.
