PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.                       Table tennis star Maria Sharapova has been suspended as a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations after admitting she tested positive for a banned substance ''Meldonium'' at this year's Australian Open.The UN Development Programme {UNDP},which Sharapova became a Goodwill Ambassador of in February 2007,suspended the Russian until the outcome of the investigation into her case is known.Sharapova's work with the UN focused mainly on helping survivors of the  1 986 Chenobyl disaster,but links to her profile on the UN's official website were not working as per today tuesday.Britain Guardian newspaper quoted a UN spokesperson as saying that ''The UNDP remains grateful to Maria Sharapova for her support of our work,especially around the Chernobly nuclear disaster recovery.However,in light of Ms Sharapova's recent announcement,we last week suspended her role as a goodwill ambassador and any planned activities wh...

SOME JAMB CANDIDATES,PROTESTED & THREW STONES TODAY AT THE LAGOS ASSEMBLY

                       Some students who wrote the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination {UTME},stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly today tuesday to protest the alleged maltreatment by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board {JAMB} in the examination.These angry youths threw stones at the security gate and the personnel manning the gate in the Assembly to vent their anger after waiting for hours without being attended to by the lawmakers.Some of the students,who were angered by the failure of the speaker or any lawmaker in the Assembly to attend to them in time were molested and arrested by members of the Rapid Response Squad {RRS},who had been mobilised to prevent them from entering the Assembly premises.The students sang solidarity songs to register their anger with the authority of JAMB and the Assembly.The over 200 candidates,who wrote this year's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination called for th...

                     A  1 9 year old Kenyan maid was arrested earlier this month for using urine to cook for her employers and the whole family.She was caught in the act when her bosses installed a close Circuit Camera in the house,following suspicions that she was maltreating their children.Upon reviewing the footage,they saw her urinating in a pot of soup she was preparing for the family.The family who is based in Mombasa,immediately reported the incident to the police and she was arrested.When she was asked why she committed the terrible act,she said she wanted revenge,as her bosses constantly maltreated her.The incident occurred last year September 20 1 5.                                         Troops of 254 Task Force Battalion,25 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with vigilantes have conducted clearance operation of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists at Gwashari village along Damboa-Bale road 2 days ago.During the patrol,the troops encountered some elements of Boko Haram terrorists in which they killed one and captured 3 others.They also recovered one Dane gun,a magazine of AK-47 rifle,2 knives,assorted drugs and sum of N 1 42,000 from the terrorists.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.
