 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT,URGES Y2016 HAJJ PILGRIMS TO SUBMIT THEIR E-PASSPORTS.

                    Executive Secretary,Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,Mr Muftau Okoya,has requested pilgrims who intended to embark on Y2016 Hajj to submit their E-Passports to their coordinators at the pilgrims Board.According to him ''Intending Pilgrims are expected to start the submission of their e-Passport today friday,the 1st of July 2016,to enable the Board commence processing visas for a hitch free Hajj''.He added that intending pilgrims are to submit the original E-passport,as well as a photocopy of the data page,adding that delay or ignoring to submit will affect the processing/documentation negatively.Mr Okoya thereafter informed the general public that Y2016 Hajj forms are still available for purchase.

EFCC SECURED A CONVICTION TODAY AGAINST A HERBALIST,WHO WAS ACCUSED OF SWINDLING N6.3 MILLION FROM A CLIENT.{PHOTOS}.

           The EFCC,today friday July 1,2016 secured the conviction of Lekan Arigbabuwo to one year imprisonment in a case of conspiracy and stealing before Justice Lawal Akapo of Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja.Arigbabuwo was arrested by the operatives of EFCC following a petition by Ogundele Oluwatoba who claimed the convict stole and conspired to swindle him of N6.3 million by posing as a herbalist,an offence punishable under section 409 of Criminal Code,Cap.A452 No. 11,Laws of Lagos State 2011 and under section 285 of Criminal Code,Cap A 410 No.11,Laws of State,2011.Arigbabuwo who was arraigned on 3 counts charge,later changed his non guilty plea to guilty under a plea bargain arrangement.More photos below.                                                                      

6 PEOPLE DEAD TODAY IN KENYA,AFTER MILITANTS SPRAY TWO BUSES WITH BULLETS.{PHOTOS}.

                                                At least six people have been killed and several others injured in Mandera County,in north-eastern Kenya,after gunmen sprayed two buses with bullets,today friday morning.The gunmen ambused the vehicles near Wargadud in El Wak,north eastern Kenya.Government official Fredrick Shisia told pressmen that the attack happened at 9:30 am {06:30 GMT} as buses were travelling to Mandera town from the capital,Nairobi.Locals say the dead include a Kenya Police Reservist and a bus driver.The country security committee had suspended travel by non-locals using until after Ramadan,due to threats by the terror group.The warning on thursday came after police refused to provide security,following a previous attack that left five officers dead.More photos below.                                                               

IGP DEPLOYS TACTICAL OPERATION UNIT TO AREPO/IBAFOR TO FLUSH OUT ARMED CRIMINALS.{READ}.

                      The Inspector General of Police,Ag.IGP Ibrahim Idris,NPM,mni on June 30,2016 deployed a Tactical Operation Unit,comprising the Police Mobile Force,the Counter-Terrorism Unit with the back-up of an Air Surveillance Team to flus out vandals and other criminal elements operating in Arepo and Ibafor areas of Ogun state.IGP Ibrahim Idris said the deployment of the Unit tp Arepo/Ibafor is to ensure that normalcy returns to the areas in record time.The IGP also said the Nigeria Police Force will not watch any criminal group or groups take the law into their hands,he therefore authorized the Unit to deal decisively with anyone who constitutes himself an enemy of the State,while asking law-abiding citizens of the area to return home and go about their normal businesses.I would be recalled that Arepo and Ibafor in Ogun state have for sometimes now been in the news for the wrong reasons due to anti-social behaviours of miscreants.In another development,the Nigeria Police For
