PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Terrorists Release 4 More Abuja-Kaduna Train Passengers  The lucky passengers include the oldest kidnap victim, who is a 90-year-old grandmother, Mama Halimatu Atta. Also released alongside with her was her 53-year-old daughter, Adama Atta Aliyu. Others are Mohammed Sani Abdulmaji (M.S Ustaz) and a Sokoto State indigene, Alhaji Modin Modi Bodinga. KDSG Security Update: Friday 19th August 2022.  Troops foil kidnap, rescue three in Chikun LGA Troops of Operation Forest Sanity foiled a kidnap attempt in the Ungwan Madaki general area of Chikun local government.  This was reported to the Kaduna State Government in an operational feedback following the rescue mission in response to a distress call from the area.  According to the report, the troops arrived the area and engaged the bandits, forcing them to flee and abandon their victims. Three victims were rescued by the troops: Elkanah Eli, along with his daughter, and one Mr Yahaya.  The Kaduna State Government received the feedback with gratitude and praised the troops for their swift response and the successful rescue.  The victims have been reunited with their families.  Signed Samuel Aruwan Commissioner,  Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.

Chantelle Broughton, 29, claimed she regularly gets asked if her babies Ayon and Azirah are both hers after she gave birth to them in April. After her son Ayon was delivered at Nottingham City Hospital with fair skin and green eyes, Chantelle was shocked to then deliver her daughter Azirah, who had a much darker complexion and brown eyes. Such births are so rare, genetics experts have previously estimated them at one in a million. TWO INJURED IN SWEDEN SHOPPING CENTRE SHOOTING,ONE ARRESTED.(PHOTO).

Swedish police said on Friday two people were injured in a shooting at the Emporia shopping centre in the southern city of Malmö and one suspect has been arrested.  "The immediate danger to the public is judged to be over," the police said in a statement. "At present, the incident is considered to be connected to the criminal environment." The police are on the scene questioning witnesses and going through material from surveillance cameras. Earlier, police said they had cordoned off the area and asked the public to avoid going to the shopping centre. The police did not immediately respond for further comment.

Yakubu Mohammed Lawal has been released having been held hostage by the kidnappers who stormed his residence at Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Council and whisked him away some days ago. Effective from September 1, 2022, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu directed enforcement teams to fully implement the proscription order and bust erring riders across the councils listed in the Okada ban. UAM GRADUATE DISMISSED FROM THE NIGERIAN NAVY OVER ALLEGED SODOMY An Engineering graduate of the University of Agriculture, now Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi has been dismissed from the Nigerian Navy for alleged sodomy. SLT Victor. N. Ukpawanne was yesterday dismissed on allegations of sodomising a teenager in Delta State. Ukpawanne was court martial and found guilty on four counts of disobeying standing order, attempting to commit sodomy, disgraceful conduct and wrong use of drugs. More photos below.

ASUU: JOSTUM FIRST CLASS STUDENT DIES WHILE AWAITING CALL-OFF A first class student of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University (JOSTUM), Tafi Joshua Sesugh, was today buried in tears in Shangev-ya, Kwande LGA, Benue State. According his friend who reached out to Benue info-pedia, Sesugh died after a very brief ailment. While in JOSTUM, Sesugh worked tirelessly and bagged a first class in Animal Nutrition and is awaiting confirmation and subsequently NYSC call, but his dream of celebrating the feat was cut short.  Rest on Sesugh.

Ortom made this assertion on Tuesday while fielding questions from journalists in Makurdi, even as he again called on residents of the state to rise up and defend themselves against those bent on creating an atmosphere of insecurity in the state. KDSG Security Update: Thursday 18th August 2022.  Troops rescue three persons along Zaria-Kano Road  Security agencies have reported that three persons were rescued by troops conducting patrols around Ungwan Namama, along the Zaria-Kano road.  According to the feedback, the troops came in contact with migrating bandits in the area and engaged them, forcing them to abandon their three captives as they hastily escaped.  The troops then rescued the victims, identified as follows:  - Abdullahi Lawal  - Sadiya Salimanu  - Fatima Salimanu (Sadiya's 10-month-old child)  Investigations revealed that the captives were kidnapped in a neighbouring state.
