Oyo Rep denies inflating road project contract from N9bn to N54bn The member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has denied reports that she inflated the contract sum of a road rehabilitation project in her constituency. The lawmaker was reacting to reports in the media that she connived with officials of the Federal Ministry of Works to inflate a 45 kilometre road project from N9 billion to N54 billion. The contractor handling the project, DC Engineering Limited, was quoted to have made the allegation at a public hearing organised by the House of Representatives in Abuja. Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Akande-Sadipe explained that the Olojuoro, Ijebu-Igbo, Ita Egba, Owonomwen road project in her constituency in Oyo State was awarded in 2018 with a two-year completion period, but after five years, one kilometer of the road has not been completed despite the contractor being mobilized substantially. ...

I remain loyal to Akeredolu, says deputy The Ondo State deputy governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday, reiterated his loyalty to his boss and state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu.  TRUCK FALLS OFF OTEDOLA BRIDGE INWARD BERGER Officials of LASEMA are working to rescue and clear the road to enable free flow of traffic after a Truck fell off Otedola bridge inward Berger. The truck loaded with Wheat products skipped off the bridge while trying to avoid collision with another vehicle, spilling its content thereby blocking the road. A man believed to be one of the occupants of the truck fell off the bridge and lost his life. Watch video below.

President Tinubu Was My Classmate In Chicago State University - Durojaiye Ogunsanya Durojaiye Ogunsanya, a public affairs analyst, has reacted to allegations that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not attend Chicago State University and that he can’t point to anyone who was his classmate in the institution. Ogunsanya, in an interview with TVC News, affirmed that Tinubu attended Chicago State University and they were classmates in the school. He also said they graduated from the school in the same year 1979 and he was a good student. According to Ogunsanya, “We met in the school, Chigaco State University and we were in the same department, College of Accounting Business and Administrative with a major in Accounting and we were in the same class together and we graduated. He did attend the University and he graduated in 1979 in the same year as I did. I am here to testify that he did attend University and he was a good student”.

I wasn’t sacked – Thaddeus Attah reacts as tribunal orders supplementary polls in Eti-Osa Thaddeus Attah, House of Representatives member, representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, has denied reports that he was sacked by the tribunal. Reports had said the petition tribunal in Lagos State had cancelled the House of Representatives election for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency. The report claimed that the tribunal sacked the Labour Party candidate, who was declared the winner. But reacting, Attah on his Twitter page said he was not sacked. According to him, the tribunal ordered a supplementary election in the 32 polling units where election did not hold. “No cause for alarm! I am here to clarify that I was not sacked. The Tribunal has simply ordered a re-run (supplementary election) in the 32 polling units where elections did not hold. “We will continue working for Etiosa. “I urge constituents to keep calm as we are unshaken. We will get through this together,” he said.

The pair already shared two kids and decided to keep their ‘joyous’ news away from public. The report was made in a book, a biography about the X boss expected to hit the shelves next week with extracts appearing on the New York Times. Little Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed Tau is Musk’s third child with Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher. Nigerian musician Mohbad passes on at 27  Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba known professionally as MohBad is dead. According to entertainment journalist, Ovie on X, the 27-year-old Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.  However, as at the time of this report, it’s unclear the cause of his d£ath.  Mohbad, before his demise was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian records” and left the label in 2022. He’s best known for his hît singles, Ponmo, Feel Good, and KPK (Ko Por Ke) with Rexxie which was nominated three times for The Headies awards in 2022.

10 Travelers has been Kidnapped at Okene Kogi State Suspected armed men have reportedly hijacked two fully loaded buses belonging to the Benue state government-owned Benue Links Transport Company whisking away over 10 passengers from the Lagos-bound vehicles that took off from Makurdi.  It was gathered that the armed men waylaid the vehicles at about 2pm on Sunday along Ajaokuta-Okene road in Kogi state.  A source in the company who spoke on condition of anonymity in Makurdi disclosed that some of the passengers sustained injuries during the attack while some were lucky to have escaped unhurt.  He said, “It is true, the incident happened along Ajaokuta-Okene road yesterday between 2pm and 3pm when the two buses were heading to Lagos.  “Available information indicated that ten passengers were abducted during the attack. The verdict which was passed at the National and State  Election Petition Tribunal  held at the State High Court on  in Jos.
