PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.                         Today tuesday it was reported that suspected Islamist militants seized control of an army base in the central Malian town of Nampala today tuesday.The deputy mayor of Diabaly Ousmane Diallo says that ''The army is regrouping in town {Diabaly} and is preparing a counter-attack to retake the base,which fell into the hands of the assailants''.Officials had no information on casualties.Armed men in four-wheel drive vehicles and on motorcycles attacked Malian forces at several positions in Nampala at around 0500GMT.despite th presence of an 11,000 strong peacekeeping force,militants have reorganized and continued to launch attacks across Mali and the wider West Africa region.One more photo below.                                                              ...

                  Today,the Senate held a closed-door Ministerial Briefing,which was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria {CBN}.The purpose of this engagement was to gauge the effectiveness of the monetary and fiscal policies that have been adopted to salvage the current economic situation in the country.At the briefing,Senators questioned the CBN Governor on the recent changes made to Nigeria's foreign exchange management policy; the determination of foreign exchange rates; the monetary policy of the Federal Government; the challenges being experienced by many commercial banks; and the need to diversify and grow Nigeria's economy for better performance.Moving forward according to the Senate President 'Saraki,the 8th Senate will continue our collaborative approach of working to bring succour to the Nigerian people in the form of effective oversight and innovative legislation.

                The Nigeria Police Force has arrested the murderers of late Olalekan Ogunranti,Managing Director,Todays prints Ltd.The late Olalekan Ogunranti was kidnapped on May 16,2016 by some unknown gunmen in Osun State.However,with the slow pace of the investigation,the Inspector-General of Police,Ag. IGP Ibrahim Idris NPM,mni on assumption of office ordered the Intelligence Response Team {IRT} of the IGP's Monitoring Unit to take over the matter and ensure the arrest of the culprits in record time.Th Intelligence Response Team swung into action using all the technical resources of the Force available to them for the arrest of five prime suspects.These include:-  1.
