 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE: LASG TO DIVERT TRAFFIC FOR REPAIRS OF IDENTIFIED FAILED/PEELED ASPHALTIC SECTIONS   The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan for the rehabilitation/repair work on identified failed/peeled asphaltic sections of the Third Mainland Bridge by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation on Sunday, 2nd  April 2023, between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.   A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde explained that traffic will be diverted from one lane to another lane at the identified failed asphaltic sections on the Bridge. POLICE RECOVER CORPSE OF BOLT DRIVER DECLARED MISSING IN FEBRUARY 1st April, 2023     The family had cried out and appealed to security agencies to hasten investigation to ascertain the whereabouts of their son. The 34- year-old resident of  70 Imole Avenue, Ajasa Command, Lagos, was booked by an unidentified passenger. His vehicle, a Toyota corolla with registration number GGE583GX grey colour 2005/6 model, was found abandoned the following day. A Police patrol team had discovered the vehicle abandoned by the roadside at Ojota, Lagos. An elder Brother of the Uber driver,  Aiyu Etiose Godwin, who spoke with Daily Trust, had said the matter was first reported at Meiran Police station before it was escalated to the headquarters of the state police Command. "I NEVER PERFORMED ANY SURGERY ON HIM" - BENUE DOCTOR TENDERS PUBLIC APOLOGY FOR REVEALING SENSITIVE INFORMATION ABOUT A 'PATIENT' ON FACEBOOK 1st April, 2023   The medical doctor, Kadev Kenneth Kelvin, who was remanded over alleged cyber stalking has tendered a public apology.  A Benue State Magistrate Court remanded Kadev at the Federal Correctional facility in Makurdi on Tuesday.   The accused was reported to have made a Facebook post on March 12, 2023 where he revealed that he stitched the lacerated anus of the Benue State publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bemgba Iortyom, after he was allegedly sodomized in Abuja prison in 2017. Commenting on the development, Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Ibrahim Odumboni, noted the importance of waste bins in homes for promoting a clean and healthy environment, adding that bins provided a designated space for domestic waste disposal, helping to prevent littering and indiscriminate dumping of refuse on streets. Nurse dies performing liposuction 1 April 2023  A Mexican woman passed away while performing liposuction after self-administered anesthesia. The 30-year-old Carina reportedly died at the clinic, a south-central facility in Mexico called Clinica Amper where she worked as a nurse. According to Carina’s employer and owner of the clinic, Dr. Rolando Samper Mendoza, the victim performed the surgery ‘without his authorization and permission’ in his absence. “One of my nurses named Carina decided on her own to perform abdominal liposuction with a local anesthetic. The result of this incomprehensible action was that she died as a result of the massive absorption of anesthetic that she administered herself,” he said. After being found unconscious by a fellow employee, Carina’s official cause of death was listed as cardiorespiratory arrest: when a person suddenly stops breathing and their heart fails. Security evacuate man from Ibom Air flight after saying Tinubu must not be sworn-in April 1, 202302 Some security agents, on Friday evening, removed a yet-to-be-identified passenger from an Ibom Air flight over unruly behavior before the take-off. According to PUNCH, the man reportedly shouted on the airplane that on no account should the President-elect, Bola Tinubu be sworn in as Nigerian leader. His strange behavior attracted the attention of other passengers and flight attendants who called in some security personnel and forcibly removed him from the plane. As the man struggled with the security men, he kept on shouting that ‘Obidients’ were looking at him being manhandled in the plane. However, no one could come close to him as officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and Ibom Air surrounded him.  More photos below.

Igbo youths condemn killing of five IPOB protesters in Aba 1 April 2023  About Five persons said to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who staged a peaceful protest in Aba, Abia State, against the non-release of their detained Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, were reportedly shot dead yesterday allegedly by members of a joint team of the Nigerian Army and the Police. Sources said the protesters, who were dressed in white attires to show that their protest was peaceful, had marched from Asa road through Azikiwe to Osusu road then to Ama Ogbonna square, where the security team fired at them killing five persons. Imam, others injured as Oro adherents invade mosque 1 April 2023 Members of the Muslim community in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Friday, staged a protest following the alleged invasion of a mosque in the Ilare area by some Oro adherents. The protesters said on Thursday, the traditionalists entered the mosque, where some Muslims had gathered to observe the 4pm prayers, and attacked those they found in the building. Beside the chief imam of the mosque, Abdul-Lateef Adediran, who was reportedly injured in the face, five other worshippers were allegedly stabbed during the attack.
