 Father impregnates daughter while living at refugee accommodation An Eritrean man is on trial in Germanyafter  allegedly impregnating his 12-year-old daughter while they lived together at a refugee shelter last year.  The disturbing discovery was made in July 2023 after the young girl was taken to hospital with abdominal pains, where she was found to be five months pregnant. DNA samples were taken from over 50 male residents of the migrant accommodation center to try and find the culprit, but it was when the child's father, only known as Tesfalem A., refused that suspicions were raised.  According to local media, the child's pregnancy was terminated 'at the family's request'.  Nigeria launch contactless passport application system The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the launch of a digital passport that will enable Nigerians in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and other countries to enjoy a renewal system that will begin on November 1, 2024. This new contactless system allows Nigerians to renew their passports online, significantly reducing the need for in-person visits to NIS offices. In a video shared on its official X account (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the NIS detailed the rollout plans. After Canada, the service will expand to the United Kingdom, United States, and Italy on November 15, with availability in Nigeria and other global locations by December 1.  Mom who made a "pact to end her life with her 10-year-old daughter" failed to follow up on her end after giving daughter pills.  She was arrested in Alabama after attempting to flee justice.  37-year-old Brittney Hensley was apprehended on October 15th and later booked into Jackson County, Mississippi Detention Center.  The arrest comes after a month's long investigation into a July 6th incident that occurred at Studio 6 Motel in Ocean Springs Mississippi.  On that date, police responded to a report of a child overdosing.   Once inside of the motel room they discovered a 10-year-old girl, unresponsive, on the floor. They also found several unknown empty prescription medicine bottles. The meds had all been prescribed to her mom, Ms. Hensley. The young girl was eventually flown to Children's Hospital in Alabama and luckily survived. Hensley was also taken to the hospital for a suspected overdose.  A police officer in South Africa has been hailed as a hero after refusing a R15,000 bribe and instead arresting a Malawian national who was trying to cross the border with a stolen vehicle worth approximately R980,000. The incident occurred when the officer stopped the suspect at a border crossing and discovered that the vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen. The suspect offered the officer a bribe of R15,000 to let him pass, but the officer refused and arrested the suspect instead. The officer's actions have been praised by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the public, who commend him for his integrity and commitment to upholding the law. The suspect is now facing charges related to the possession of stolen property and attempting to bribe a law enforcement officer.

At first, he thought he was dreaming, but when he woke up, he was scared to go down because he felt the building had collapsed.  Zics said when he finally developed the courage to go downstairs, he saw that his living room POP had collapsed. The skitmaker expressed gratitude to God for saving his life and that of his crew members as they were in his house a day back for a shoot and most of them had slept in the parlor. He pondered on what would have happened if they were still in his house.

Professor Kindiki's swearing-in — marked by a public holiday — was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Kenya's capital Nairobi on Friday, November 1. The ceremony came hours after the High Court lifted orders that had barred Kindiki's oath-taking following a petition filed by former Deputy President Gachagua. The ceremonial handover was attended by officials from the Ethiopian Heritage Protection Authority and descendants of veterans who fought in the Magdala War, according to the state-owned Ethiopian Press Agency. Through efforts by the Royal Ethiopian Trust (RET), the shield was reclaimed after negotiations with the UK-based auction house Anderson & Garland.  POLICE SERGEANT ARRESTED AFTER MURDER OF WIFE AND DOMESTIC WORKER A 44-year-old Police Sargeant has been arrested following the alleged shooting of his wife and domestic worker at their homestead in Masisi, Vhembe district, on the evening of 29 October 2024. The Sergeant has been on the run since then, until his subsequent arrest following a shootout with police on Thursday night, 31 October 2024. The suspect was located in the Makuya policing area after a well co-ordinated operation by Vhembe SAPS District Task team members. He was spotted driving at high speed along Tshitavha road next to Sambandou bridge. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect started firing multiple shots at them, prompting the police to respond swiftly. The suspect was wounded in the exchange, and one police officer sustained minor injuries. The Police recovered a service pistol and ammunition. Both the suspect and the injured officer were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. T

 EFCC confirms Bobrisky’s arrest; gives reasons The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed the arrest of Bobrisky at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while on his way out of the country.  In a chat with LIB, the spokesperson of the commission, Del Oyewale, said the crossdresser was arrested over the claims he  made in the audio  conversation social critic, Very Dark Man, released in October. In the audio conversation, a person purported to be Bobrisky claimed he paid the EFCC N15 million to drop the money laundering charges filed against him earlier this year.  Oyewale said Bobrisky was arrested and detained so he can help in the investigation of the bribery allegation made in the audio recording. He said Bobrisky was invited for questioning following the release of the audio but he refused to show up, forcing the agency to arrest him. Bobrisky has however denied being the person heard in the audio tape.

 In a shocking incident in Chennai’s Injambakkam area, a 40-year-old headmistress has been arrested following serious allegations of sexual assault against a 22-year-old female teacher. The incident reportedly occurred after the headmistress invited the younger teacher to her residence under the pretext of discussing preparations for upcoming half-yearly examinations. This invitation turned into a disturbing encounter as the headmistress allegedly spiked the teacher’s drink. After consuming the drink, the young teacher lost consciousness. Upon regaining awareness, she discovered herself in a vulnerable state, semi-naked and bearing visible injuries, leading to immediate concern for her safety and well-being. This alarming revelation prompted her to seek help, resulting in a formal complaint being made at the Thiruvanmiyur all-women police station.  A four-decade-old land dispute between two groups became the cause of a brutal murder in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, with a few men chopping off a 17-year-old boy’s head with a sword. The teenager’s grieving mother sat for hours with her son’s severed head in her lap, consumed by sorrow. The police reported that there had been a long-standing dispute over land between the two parties. On Wednesday, this dispute escalated into a violent clash. During the confrontation, several members of the opposing side chased a 17-year-old boy. They struck him with a sword with such force that his head was severed from his body. In the aftermath of the incident, the police arrested two individuals.  Several police teams were dispatched to the scene to maintain order and prevent the situation from worsening. Protesters trooped out to the streets across Nigeria between August 1 and August 10, 2024, over the nationwide hardship. However, some of the protesters were seen waving Russian flag, an action the Federal Government condemned, ordering arrests. Subsequently, the protesters were arrested in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Gombe, among others. Some of those arrested were arraigned at a Federal High Court in Abuja, on Friday.  Report: Over 30m Nigerians at risk as hunger crisis deepens A new report, Cadre Harmonisé (CH), has shown that not less than 30 million people in Nigeria, including Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in 26 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are expected to be food insecure or worse between June and August 2025. The CH is a food and nutrition report put together by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security with technical support from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and other partners. The analysis, conducted twice a year in 26 states and the federal capital, projected that 33.1 million people would be food insecure by August next year.  A 33-year-old woman, Comfort Olajumoke Olalere Tinubu, has stabbed her husband, Olusegun Tinubu, 39, to d3ath in Ibadan, Oyo State.  It was gathered that the incident occurred at Gbeyi, in the Adegbayi area of Ibadan around 10pm on Wednesday night, October 30, 2024.  The couple who got married about three years ago, had two children from the marriage.  Bauchi Hisbah arrests elderly man who posted photos of multiple women he “dated for pleasure”  The Bauchi State Hisbah Board has arrested an elderly man for posting multiple photos of his ex-girlfriends.   The man identified as Alhaji Bala Mohammed, from the Dass local government area of Bauchi State trended recently after the photos of him together with over 50 women, many of them in compromising positions, went viral.  It was gathered that Bala was arrested after some of his former girlfriends who are now married, reported him to the board. Mohammed, however, said he has regretted hurting Muslims in northern Nigeria who might have found his lifestyle despicable. Recall that viral clips on social media captured the moment Bobrisky was disgraced and dragged from the airport by the members of the anti graft agency. The controversial drama queen shared on his Instagram story that he has been arrested and severely injured Sharing a video on Instagram, Isaac Fayose slammed the EFCC for arresting Bobrisky after clearing him of all charges during the senate investigations. No fewer than 76 #EndBadGovernance protesters were paraded before Justice Obiora Egwuatum for their scheduled arraignment.
