 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.                  According to sources,a Tanzanian court has charged four people over the murder of an albino woman over six years ago as pressure mounts for authorities in the east African country to do more to stop the killing of albinos whose body parts are prized in black magic.Ezron Mwasimba,Public Prosecutor in the High Court in northern Mwanza city said that the four were accused of killing 22 year old Zawadi Magindu at Nyamalulu village in Geita in November 2008 and cutting off her legs and one arm.They pleaded not guilty yesterday thursday with the hearing to continue next week .The trial is the first of its kind to be held in the Geita region where six albinos were killed and three wounded between 2007 and 2012,according to the police data.It is expected to be closely followed by local residents and campaigners.''We have gathered compelling evidence against the accused persons including from members of the bereaved family who had ide...

               According to sources who were at the scene of the crime said three ladies between the ages of 25 and 30 years died yesterday afternoon after the Hummer bus they were travelling in was knocked off the Lagos-Benin high way by an operational vehicle driven by operatives of the Nigerian Customs service.The ladies and the driver of the Hummer bus were carrying second hand clothes also known as okirika,summersaulted during a hot chase by customs officials from the Federal Operations Unit,Zone A,Ikeja from one of their checkpoints in Ijebu Ode.The driver of the bus allegedly refused to stop when flagged down at their checkpoint which resulted in the Hummer summersaulting.The driver of the Hummer bus who lost one of his leg in the accident,said ''When the customs pick-up van could not overtake him,it hit his bus at the rear which caused the vehicle to summersault several times into the bush at a place indigenes called J3.On sensing that the...
