 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. A GROUP LAUNCHED A PETITION TO PRESIDENT OBAMA,TO CHANGE THE FACE OF THE $20 BILL FROM A MAN TO A WOMAN'S FACE.

                                 An organization called ''Women on 20s'' has launched a campaign to petition President Barack Obama to sign an executive order to replace Andrew Jackson with one of the 15 women who change the course of the United States history.It is hoped the historic change would be made in time for the new bill to be issued in 2020,the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote.The act was ratified on August 18,1920,47 years after it was first introduced to Congress by California Senator Aaron A.Sargent.The organizers say the change would go along way in promoting the bed rock principal of our democracy,that all people are created equal.The group said ''We believe this simple,symbolic and long over due change could be an important stepping stone for other initiatives promoting gender equality''.One more picture below.       ...
