 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. A NIGERIAN CATHOLIC PRIEST EMMANUEL,WHO WAS KIDNAPPED EARLIER THESE MONTH IN EKITI,HAS BEEN FREED.

                    Rev Father Emmanuel Akingbade,a parish priest of St Benedict of Ido-Ekiti,who was kidnapped from the parish house by three armed men on 8 June,is now free.The Bishop of Ekiti Diocese,Most Rev Felix Ajakaje,confirmed that father Akingbade has been released since June 16 after some negotiations.The kidnappers had asked for a large sum of money but the Bishop said he told them that the church was not a money making institution.He stressed that no ransom had been paid,but gave no further details.Bishop Ajakaje appealed that there should be recriminations or bad feelings against the kidnappers.''We want things to change for the better in our state'' he said.A thanksgiving mass was held these sunday for him at St Patrick Cathedral in Abujal.
