PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. Lekki Residents Reject Resumption Of Tolling Operation -Mr Macaroni Comedian, Mr Macaroni, has revealed that residents of Lekki Estate in a meeting with the Lekki Concession Company rejected the resumption of tolling operations at the toll gate. Resumption of tolling operations had been announced earlier this month and scheduled for April 1st, 2022. In a tweet, Mr Macaroni said, “We are live at the LCC and StakeHolders Meeting. The Lekki Estate Residents and Stakeholders Association Chairman has announced the decision of all Residents which is NO TO TOLLING!!!!!”

  Terror Attack: Qualifying For World Cup Would Have Been Distracting -Actress Mary Remmy Njoku Actress and filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku, has thanked God that Nigeria didn't qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. Nigeria failed to qualify after playing a 1-1 draw with Ghana at the stadium in Abuja on Tuesday. Ghana qualified on Away Goal. She said a World Cup qualification would have distracted Nigerians from the challenges facing the country. The actress said this on her Instagram page. She said, "Thank God, we didn't qualify for the World Cup. It would have been a distraction. We need to focus on the real problems in Nigeria and pressure the government to do something. An attack on a train. An attack at the airport." An Abuja-Kaduna train had been attacked by terrorists on Monday night leading to deaths, abductions and injuries. Before then, terrorists had invaded the Kaduna airport, however, the military has denied the claims, saying there was no attack.

Customs Intercepts Smuggled Drones, Military Uniforms, Others In Lagos Nigeria Customs Service in charge of the Murtala Muhammed Area Command (MMAC), Lagos, says it has intercepted some drones and military wares allegedly being smuggled into the country by criminals. The customs, which disclosed this on Tuesday, put the value of the items at over N300 million. This is coming in less than 24 hours after bandits bombed a Kaduna-bound train, killing a yet-to-be ascertained number of persons. Authorities in charge of MMAC said all the items seized would soon be handed over to the Nigerian Army and other relevant government agencies for further investigation.

At Least, twenty people, including women and children, drowned in Guni-Zumba river while fleeing due to an attack by bandits. Daily Trust learnt that the victims escaped when bandits attacked Guni and Kurgbaku communities of Munya Local Government Area of Niger state. Daily Trust gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning when bandits simultaneously invaded the two communities, forcing the locals to flee. Sources said the victims were crossing the river to Zumba and Gwada IDP camps through the boat. Shehu Abubakar, a resident, told our that the boat was loaded beyond capacity, forcing it to capsize in the middle of water. Bandits invaded our communities this morning, and in an attempt to flee, some people drowned in Guni-Zumba river. Due to overloading, the boat capsized in the middle of the water. For now, we don’t know the number casualties because we have not been able to rescue anybody but I can tell you that over 20 people, including women and children, were involved...

EFCC Arrests 80 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Ibadan, 40 in Enugu Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC, have arrested eighty (80) suspects for alleged internet- related activities in Ibadan, Oyo State. Forty (40) other suspects were arrested by operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Commission for the same suspected offences. Senate Tasks Service Providers on Charges Nigeria Senate has constituted a seven-man ad-hoc committee to probe the tariff hike introduced by pay-tv service providers operating in the country. The Senate also directed all pay-tv service providers to immediately review their bouquet prices downwards in tandem with the prevailing reality of the economic situation in Nigeria.
