APPLE'S STATEMENT ON MINERALS MUST BE 'VERIFIED'-DRC. (PHOTO).

 Apple's statement on minerals must be 'verified': DRC International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe. Criminal complaints were filed against Apple subsidiaries in France and Belgium this week on behalf of DR Congo, accusing the tech firm of using conflict minerals in its supply chain, Reuters reported. DR Congo is a major source of tin, tantalum and tungsten, so-called 3T minerals used in computers and mobile phones. But some artisanal mines are run by armed groups involved in massacres, rapes and other crimes, say UN experts and rights groups. 'Satisfaction and caution' Apple said on Tuesday that it strongly disputes the claims and has told suppliers they must not use the minerals in question sourced from DR Congo or Rwanda. The Veteran actor who turned 62years old according to Google, Zachee Ama Orji, born in Libreville, Gabon, in 1960, is a Nigerian actor, director, producer and filmmaker. Orji is a graduate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Having grown up in Cameroon, Benin and Togo he speaks both English and French fluently. His first movie was in 1991, and was entitled Unforgiven Sin. LAGOS MOBILE COURT WARNS MOTORISTS AGAINST FLOUTING TRAFFIC LAWS.(PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE

The Lagos State Special Offences Mobile Court has warned recalcitrant motorists fond of violating the traffic laws of the State to desist or be ready to face the consequences of their actions under the Law. The Coordinator, Special Offences Mobile Court, Mrs. Arinola Ogbara, gave the warning on Thursday during an awareness and sensitisation campaign for road users and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), on the need to obey the State Traffic Laws. Ogbara noted that the Agency decided to embark on the sensitisation tour in order to declare zero-tolerance for violation of traffic offences and create more awareness on the dangers of driving against traffic (One Way) as well as other traffic offences, stating that this will go a long way in eradicating many of the offences. LADY UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL SURGERY FOR THE REMOVAL OF OVARIAN TUMOR IN IMO STATE. (PHOTOS).

The surgical operation of Ms. Chinasa Nwachukwu, who suffered from an OVARIAN TUMOR, which was done by a team of professional Doctors, was very successful. In an operation that lasted over six (6) hours, by the medical team, led by Doctor Mazi Ejikem, came out of the theatre room with a cheering news. Ms. Chinasa is very stable and recovering so well from the major surgery.  According to one of the Doctors that performed the surgery, her case was highly complicated, hence, she had to be handled with utmost care because of her sugar and BP levels. Man Who Targets UK Revenue and Customs Bags Six Months Jail Term For Theft, Impersonation In Lagos The EFCC, on Monday, January 31, 2022, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Amunikoro Oludare Olawale to six months imprisonment for identity theft and impersonation before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos. Investigation by the EFCC into Olawale’s criminal activities had begun following a complaint received by the Commission from one S. Hawkins, who is resident in the United Kingdom, UK. Hawkins, using the EFCC online reporting mobile application, The Eagle Eye App, had reported that Olawale used her name to commit fraud with Her Majesty Revenue and Customs, HMRC, in the UK. Olawale was subsequently arrested by operatives of the Commission on November 22, 2021, and arraigned on January 31, 2022.

“American Prostitute” Bags 12months Imprisonment over N57.8m Fraud in Ilorin Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday, February 4, 2022 convicted and sentenced 20-year-old Oyelowo Mayowa Fawas from Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State to 12months imprisonment for offences bordering on cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds. The defendant was prosecuted on two counts by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC. Oyelowo, among others things, disguised as ‘a white female professional prostitute’, practicing in the United States of America, to swindle his unsuspecting victims of various sums before the long arm of the law caught up with him.

Mass transit: Zulum launches 610 taxis, tricycles, buses in Maiduguri … Gives N50m to 1,000 operators … Targets 3,200 beneficiaries  Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has launched 610 taxis, tricycles and buses to enhance urban mass transportation in Maiduguri and parts of Jere and Konduga Local Government Areas which fall under the metropolis.   Zulum arrived Maiduguri after his presidential press briefing in Abuja today, Thursday, and drove from the airport to Ramat Square in Maiduguri, where he launched 610 means of transportation which combine 100 Toyota LE cars for city taxis, 500 tricycles popularly known as ‘Keke NAPEP’ and 10 Ashok Leyland buses each with capacity for 41 passengers.  While the 10 buses were left under the custody of Borno Express Transport Corporation for intracity services, the 500 tricycles were allocated to 2000 operators with each tricycle owned by a group of four unemployed persons.
