 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. As Nigerian Army flagged off Operation LAST HOLD in Northern Borno, over 2000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have returned to their ancestral home GUDUNBALI for the first time in six years. 2. The Eid prayers were observed in the Headquarters of GUZAMALLA Local Government Area Council.  The returnee Internally Displaced Persons were assisted back to their communities by the troops of Operation LAST HOLD. 3. Following the achievements recorded by the troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, the Nigerian Army consolidated the operations with clearance operation which is Sharan Gwona da Sharan Gida and dominance patrols. 4. CURFEW DECLARED IN ABUJA COMMUNITY TODAY AFTER VIOLENT CLASH .

       The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Sunday said the 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew imposed on Bwari town in the territory, will remain until further notice. According to a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Mr Abubakar Sani, the earlier 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew imposed in the town on Saturday, will end on Sunday,. The FCTA added that it was deeply concerned over attempts by “some miscreants to reincarnate the December 25th, 2017 crisis in Bwari Area Council. “Reports reaching the administration indicate that some of the miscreants took advantage of the on-going Eid-il-Fitr celebrations to launch attacks on innocent residents of the town on Saturday June 16. “Fortunately, the security agencies immediately swung into action and have since brought the situation under control. “For the avoidance of doubt, the FCT Administration shall not condone any attempts by any group of persons to precipitate the breakdown...

FRSC WASHES OFF DIESELS SPILLED ON THE ROAD AFTER A CONTAINER CARRYING DIESEL FELL YESTERDAY ALONG LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY.{PHOTOS}.

       A lane spanning about 100 meter at Sika Company Middle of the Long bridge along the Lagos - Ibadan expressway is still cordon off by the Ambulance team. This is as a result of the earlier reported RTC involving a tanker conveying diesels. Diesels on the road needs to be flushed and the Lagos state fire service just arrived the scene. Efforts are ongoing to flush it off the road. Motorists plying this route are advised to reduce speed and drive with utmost caution.(16/06/2018). Stay connected for updates. The obstruction has finally been cleared as the two Containers have been towed off the road. The Lagos state Fire service has washed off the remains of the product which spilled on the road. A mother and her two children, age 6 and 8 reportedly died in a fire accident which occurred in Onitsha.The mother is identified as 36 years old Late Mrs Nneka Ejimene a.k.a Miss World,and her daughter is identified as 8 year old Late Miss Adachukwu Ejimene.They will both be buried on friday the 22nd of June 2018.May their souls rest in peace,Amen.

GOVERNOR WIKE LAUDS 'RSIEC' FOR CONDUCTING CREDIBLE LOCAL GOVT ELECTIONS.{PHOTO}.

       Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has commended the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for conducting credible Local Government Elections across the state. The governor also commended security agencies for ensuring that the elections were peaceful by creating the right atmosphere for peaceful polls. Speaking in an interview after monitoring the local government elections in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas, Governor Wike said that the non-participation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections turned out to be one of the reasons why the process was peaceful. He said: "Sixty-six out of sixty-eight political parties participated, but no violence. That means that if APC had participated, probably we would have seen violence.
