 Zamfara Governor’s Wife Facilitates Marriage for 100 Orphans, Offers Support to Grooms The wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has overseen the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in the state. The brides, who were well cared for prior to the ceremony, received full attention for their beautification. Each bride’s dowry, amounting to 151,000 Naira, was covered by the Governor’s wife. In addition, Huriyya Dauda Lawal provided essential household items, including furniture such as cushions, beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and kitchen utensils. Furthermore, she offered financial assistance of N50,000 to each groom to help them start their businesses and achieve self-sufficiency. Hajiya Lawal encouraged the brides to respect their husbands and practice patience. She also assured them that the Zakkat and Endowment Board would be available to offer support should any marital issues arise.

EXOTIC CARS RECOVERED FROM CAR SNATCHING SYNDICATE IN ANAMBRA. (PHOTOS).

        The Anambra State Police Command has busted an 11-man car snatching syndicate operating in the state. Commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Garba Umar, who paraded the suspects, said it recovered 11 exotic cars of various brands which were disposesed from their owners at gunpoint by the suspects. The cars included various choice cars, ranging from Lexus, Mercedes Benz and Toyota products among others,  most of which were sports utility vehicles(SUVs). The commissioner, who paraded the suspects at the state police command headquatres, Amawbia said the command had to redouble its efforts in protecting the lives and property of the people of the state following increasing incidences of car theft and snatching.       It was reported some days ago how a food seller was left heartbroken after being accused of water from mortuary to cook food at the Federal Polytechnic Oko in Anambra state. It was gathered that the rumor was circulated in order to tarnish the woman's image. Fresh reports has it that a philanthropist based in Austria has decided to help the woman popularly known as Nwanyi Nanka. The philanthropist, Nweke Solomon Chukwudi from Nkanu LG in Enugu State but based in Austria, reached out immediately and contacted Comr. Victor Chinonso the journalist who reported the incident as he donated cash and a bag of rice to the woman. According to Victor, the rumors has further strengthened the resolve of the food seller as she has started cooking four (4) coolers of rice in other to effectively serve all her customers against the three she cooked before.More photos below.

GOV. ISHAKU CONSOLES PEOPLE OF ZING LGA OVER FIRE INCIDENT.

        Governor Darius  Ishaku has condoled with the people of Zing Local Government Area over Wednesday’s fire incident that has left ten dead and scores sustaining life threatening injuries. The incident which has left the Governor and the people of the State deeply sad occurred when a tanker carrying fuel exploded near a busy spot in the town, killing many. Describing it as heartbreaking, the Governor said the Government is  looking seriously into the matter to critically assess the immediate and remote cause of the incident. In a statement shared by Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Emmanuel Bello, Governor Ishaku said the incident left him deeply sad.       The Federal Government has deployed a combined team of security agents to contain herdsmen attacks on Benue communities, Governor Ortom stated. He made the disclosure on the floor of the Benue State House of Assembly yesterday to brief members on efforts to end killings in the state. The Governor stated that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai was already in the state touring flashpoints in parts of the state including Logo, Guma and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas with a view to flushing out the marauders. He informed the Assembly that additional joint forces coordinated by defense headquarters were in the state to address the security challenges.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, May 3, 2018 secured the conviction of Ikechukwu Elom Awoke, before Justice A. Y. Sanya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, on a 2-count amended charge bordering on conspiracy and cheating to tune of N350,000 (three hundred and fifty thousand naira). He was sentenced to six months imprisonment with option of fine of N50,000 for conspiracy on count one and eighteen mo nths imprisonment with option of fine of N50,000 for cheating on count two.The case was triggered by a petition dated August 16, 2017 by one Noami Wanya, who claimed she met the convict through the Facebook, and in the process entered into a relationship with the aim of marrying each other.In the course of the relationship, Awoke fraudulently obtained N350,000 from the petitioner through his account domiciled in one of the old generation banks, prompting the victim to petition the EFCC.The offence is contrary to and punishable under...

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Friday, May 4, 2018, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Nsa Ayi, a former Relationship Officer, Coronation Merchant Bank, to seven years imprisonment before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, Lagos.   The convict, who was arraigned on February 26, 2018, on an 11-count charge bordering on fraudulent accounting to the tune of N700, 000, 000.00 (Seven Hundred Million Naira), was said to have connived with unknown parties to move funds using customers’ electronic instructions meant for investment in the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) Bonds, Treasury Bills and Fixed Deposits.        The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has disclosed that the establishment of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Ground Training Command (GTC) in Enugu State was primarily to enhance the security of lives and properties of Nigerians in the Southeast of the country. He made this known yesterday, 2 May 2018, during the Ground Breaking and Foundation Laying Ceremony of the Headquarters Complex of GTC at Gabon Village in Enugu State.                       According to sources,'' A female lawyer identified as Udeme on Thursday allegedly stabbed her husband, Otike Odibi to death, severed his genital and placed it on his right hand. The tragedy was said to have occurred around 7:30am on Thursday, the police confirmed, describing the scene as an eyesore.
