 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. THE SENATE PASSED A MOTION TODAY TO INVESTIGATE THE INCREASE IN RAPE & SEXUAL ASSAULT ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

               The Senate on tuesday passed a motion to investigate the increase in rape and sexual assault across the country.The motion titled: ''Urgent need to investigate the alarming rate of Rape and Sexual Assault against Women,Children and Vulnerable people across the country'' was introduced by Deputy Majority Leader,Senator Bala Ibn Na'Allah {Kebbi South}.Na'Allah in his lead debate called for urgent attention to the ''frightening increase in cases of sexual violence,notably rape where more than half of the victims are minors below the age of consent,'''.He noted that in most cases,the perpetrators are individuals familiar to the victims and include neighbors,employers and family members adding that the motion in meant to express Senate's concern that the activities of certain sexual predators represent a serious security threat to vulnerable segments of society.He stated that rape and sexual assault figures reveal that these cri...

JAMES BOND STAR ''ROGER MOORE'' PASSED AWAY TODAY IN SWITZERLAND AT THE AGE OF 89.{PHOTOS}.

              Sir Roger Moore who acted in James Bond in the 70's,has died at the age of 89 after a short but brave battle with cancer.In a statement announcing his death,the London-born family said that the iconic actor had been surrounded by love in his final days in Switzerland.It added: ''It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer.The love with which he has surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone.Our thoughts must now turn to supporting Kristina at this difficult time,and in accordance with our father's wishes there will be a private funeral in Monaco''.His family revealed that his funeral will take place in Monaco,where he lived with his fourth wife Kristina Tholstrup.May his soul rest in peace Amen.More photos below.

                   The Kano operational zone of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today,May 23,2017 carried out a mass Walk Against Corruption.Zonal Head of Operation,Dr Adamu Hamisu Danmusa said the walk was aimed at sensitizing the public on the evils of corruption and to carry them along in the bid to drive corruption out of Nigeria.The walk started from the Commission's Kano Zonal Office and terminated at the Race Course,Nasarawa in the Kano Metropolis featured several stakeholders from ICPC,NDLEA,KAROTA and Civil Defence.At the termination of the rally,Elder Statesman and former Minister in the first Republic,Alhaji Sule Maitama,Danmassanin Kano gave a remarkable speech in which he described the walk of the Commission as God's Work.'',he said.The Danmasani also warned that if we don't fight corruption,we would never achieve greatness in the eyes of the world.''We are potentially a great country,a country that will takke i...

FIRE RAZED DOWN SHOPS IN LAGOS ISLAND TODAY MORNING.

                 According to sources who just sent in this story that today tuesday around 2am {midnight}.,shops belonging to some clothe sellers in Lagos Island have been razed by fire,witnesses have said.The incident occurred around Broad Street,behind UBA House,Lagos Island.Sources claimed that the the fire started from a nearby electricity transformer,and spread into shops.Traders at the scene were seen wailing and counting their losses.
