PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.  𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗡𝗻𝗲𝗯𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝟲𝟭 Anayo Nnebe (born in 1963) popularly known as Ichele Awka, served as the Speaker of the Anambra State Assembly from 2007 to 2011. He is from Umuokpu Village, Awka in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. In 2015, he was elected to represent Awka North and South Federal Constituency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In April 2018, Nnebe announced his defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Grand Alliance and contested again to represent Awka North and South Federal Constituency but lost to PDP.  Before his death, he was an appointee of the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Legislative Matters. May his soul rest in peace, Amen 🙏🏾 🕊️

Ondo Assembly to screen Aiyedatiwa’s nominee as Deputy Gov Thursday Ondo Assembly to screen Aiyedatiwa’s nominee as Deputy Gov Thursday Olayide Owolabi Adelami, the nominee for the position of deputy governor of Ondo State, is scheduled to undergo screening before the Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday. Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, announced this during Wednesday’s plenary after reading a letter from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Oladiji said the Governor acted in line with Section 191(3) b&c of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. According to him, “Dr Adelami who hails from Owo in Owo Local Government Area of the State is expected to appear before the House tomorrow, 25th January, 2024 for screening.”

Two injured as ‘waste bin explodes’ in Abuja The police command in the federal capital territory (FCT) says two persons were injured after a metal waste bin exploded in the Maitama area of Abuja. In a statement on Wednesday, Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson, said the explosion was not bomb related but occurred as a result of an overheated metal refuse bin. Adeh said the two persons who sustained injuries were the refuse evacuators and are receiving treatment at the Maitama General Hospital. “The FCT police command hereby wishes to update the public on an alleged explosion on 24/01/2024 at about 1145 hrs, near a refuse dump outside the Bureau of Public Enterprise premises in Maitama, Abuja,” the statement reads. “A rapid response team and members of the explosive ordnance disposal unit were deployed to assess the situation and preliminary findings indicate that an overheated metal refuse container activated under intense heat, exploded, thereby causing injury to two of the refuse...

Nigerian Man Living Abroad Caught Wife In Hotel After She Claimed Going To Work  A Nigerian man who lives abroad, has caught his wife with another man in a hotel, Best Western Hotel, after the mother of four claimed to be going to work. The visibly angry man who apparently trailed the wife to the hotel, could be heard yelling, "divorce me, divorce me", "married woman with four kids". On attempt to approach the man with whom the wife apparently cheated with, the wife could be heard in igbo warning the husband, "don't go there". The distraught husband entered his vehicle and zoomed off. Watch video below.

KEKE RIDER ARRESTED FOR DEFILING GROUNDNUT HAWKER, 14 A tricycle rider, popularly known as Keke Napep operator, Rilwan Lukman, has landed in trouble after he allegedly lured a 14-year old groundnut hawker under false pretence of patronizing her and defiled her in Ogun State.  The suspect, Lukman, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State-owned security outfit, So-Safe Corps and handed over to the Police for prosecution over his alleged conduct under the Criminal law of the State. Daily Champion Checks leaned that the incident occurred on Sunday by 10 am when inhabitants in the affected community known as Gyaruwa Tsambee Council ward of Gwer West of Benue State. UNICEF: Recent violent attacks disrupted learning of over 1.3m children in Nigeria The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says the recent violent attacks in some parts of Nigeria have disrupted the learning of more than 1.3 million schoolchildren. In a statement to mark the International Day of Education, Cristian Munduate, UNICEF representative in Nigeria, said there is a need for collaborative efforts to improve school safety in Nigeria. Munduate said only 6,000 schools met 43 percent minimum standard of safety in learning environment in Nigeria.
