 Taraba: Police Commissioner Calls for Peaceful Coexistence Between Herders and Farmers The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has urged for greater peace and understanding between herders and farmers in the state. During a meeting with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jalingo on Thursday, Opara highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation for long-term development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence between these groups is crucial for their livelihoods and for fostering economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. Opara commended MACBAN for its readiness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba.                          According to CCTV,who reported today that as it stands,Obesity statistics shows that 41 million children under five years are either over weight or obese.Dr Sania Nishtar,Commission Co-Chair ,Ending Childhood Obesity said ''So for 2014 it has been estimated that there are 41 million children who are overweight and obese under five years of age.Forty eight percent of these live in Asia and 25 percent in Africa and prevalence is on the rise''.The number of overweight children under five in Africa has almost doubled since 1990 from 5.4 million to 10.3 million.The sharp increase has been occassioned by marketing of foods and non-alcoholic beverages,which rose from 31 million in 1990 to 41 million in 2014,particularly in the developing world,with the greatest rise coming from low and middle income countries.The report urges WHO to institutionalize a cross-cutting and life course approach to ending child...

NIGERIAN TELECOMMUNICATION MINISTER,ADVISED MTN TODAY TO DROP IT'S LEGAL ACTION OVER THE $3.9 BILLION FINE.

                            Nigerian telecommunication minister Adebayo Shittusaid today tuesday that South African telecommunication company MTN should drop its legal action over a $3.9 billion fine imposed in Nigeria to help facilitate talks on a possible settlement.The Nigerian Communications Commission {NCC} slapped a $5.2 billion fine on MTN in October 2015 for failing to disconnect users with unregistered SIM cards but after weeks of negotiations reduced it by 25 percent.MTN,which makes about 37 percent of its revenue from Nigeria,then filed a suit in Nigeria,questioning NCC's legal grounds for imposing the penalty.Adeboyo Shittu said ''I'm not aware of any out of the court settlement.President Muhammadu Buhari will have the final decision on the matter,adding that MTN might be advised to withdraw the court case filed against the fine.If they withdraw it creates a better environment,an environment where there is...

ONE PASTOR FROM THE DEEPER LIFE MINISTRY,WAS KIDNAPPED YESTERDAY IN KEBBI STATE.

                It was reported today tuesday that,yesterday monday evening,the Kebbi State Overseer off the Deeper Christian Life Ministry,DCLM,Pastor David Onubedo was kidnapped in Okene ,Kogi state by kidnappers and they took him to an unknown destination.Pastor David was returning from the church's Bible study presided over by the General Superintendent of the church,Pastor William Kumuyi,and transmitted to all Deeper Life Bible Church outlets nationwide,around 9pm yesterday monday when he was kidnapped.Another source said he was already at home after the Bible study when the gunmen came and abducted him.A close family source quoted Pastor David's wife as saying that the kidnappers had established contact with her and were demanding N50 million ransom as at today tuesday morning before they could release him.Key leaders in Deeper Life confirmed the kidnap of Onubedo,but preferred not to be quoted as they are not authorised to comment on the ma...

2 GAY MEN WERE DOCKED AT AN IKEJA MAGISTRATES COURT TODAY,FOR HAVING SEX IN A JEEP.

                   Today tuesday,two men who allegedly had anal sex inside a jeep,were docked at an Ikeja Magistrates court.The accused are identified as 33 years old Innocent Egbuna  and 21 years old Jide Ajayi,are being tried for a three count charge bordering on conspiracy and act of gross indecency.Egbuna who claimed to be a soldier.lives at N0.22,Support Regiment,Ijebu-Ode in Ogun,while Ajayi,an unemployed,is a resident of No.28,Owoduni St,Onipanu on Ikorodu Expressway.The prosecutor,Sgt.Joseph Ajebe,told the court that the offences were committed on January 18 at Ajao Road,Ikeja.According to him,the accused were caught by an anti-crime patrol team at Ikeja.''The accused were found inside a parked Nissan Jeep with registration No.KSF 914 AC having anal sexual intercourse.Ajayi said Egbuna accosted him and told him to have sex with him,promising to give substantial amount of money and that he will also take him to the club ...
