 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents.          The rate of arm robbery in Nigeria is very high,some blame it on unemployment and why some say is a form of collecting their own national cake,but can you rob Peter to pay Paul?.The new case of armed robbery involved 4 men,who around 2.am on Raymond Njoku street,off Awolowo road,Ikoyi Lagos recently stole cables.The suspects have been identified as,Okoya Emmanuel,32,Udoma Okoutu,37,Chi boy Eze,28 and Chike Onyewure,30.Their ring leader Chinedu,Aka Ik,fled on seeing the police.The items recovered from the police include,chisels,jack knives,cutlasses,saw blades,a mercedes benz car used for the operation and about 100 pieces of vandalised armoured cables.Residents in that area tip off the police.The 4 suspects were charged before an Igbosere magistrate's court,on a three count charge of felony,unlawful vandalisation of Nitel cables and stealing.All accused pleaded not guilty and a bail of N500,000 each with two sureties with proof of 6 months bank statement,was required.The 4

MOHAMMED ABACHA,TO BE ON TRAIL FOR THEFT.

                        Former military head of state late General Sani Abacha's son,Mohamed Abacha,today was unanimously agreed by the supreme court that he will to be tried for theft.He will return to Abuja High court and face his trail on a 123 court criminal charge brought against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria where in he was alleged to be in possession of stolen properties belonging to the Federal Government.The theft was allegedly committed during his late fathers tenure as a military President of Nigeria.Mohammed Abacha argued that the immunity enjoyed by his father while in office extended to him and that having forfeited some of the family's properties confisticated by the government,he should be exempted from prosecution in line with the provisions of Decree 53 of 1999 constitution.The apex court held that immunity does not extend beyond the tenure of office and that even if the late head of state were alive,he can be prosecuted for a criminal offence not t
