Lagos State College of Nursing (LASCON), Igando has debunked the viral social media posts/adverts regarding the sale of admission forms into the College for General Nursing, Midwifery or Post Basic Nursing programme for the 2023/2024 Academic Session. 50 poisoned at another wedding party after 114 perished during marriage ceremony No fewer than 50 people were poisoned at a wedding in Iraq’s northern province of Kirkuk due to spoiled food, local media reported. According to the report, the incident occurred in the town of Hawija, west of Kirkuk, the capital city of the cognominal province. Iraq fire: Eyewitnesses tell of wedding hall blaze horror Nearly 100 people have been killed and many more injured in a blaze at a wedding celebration in Qaraqosh in northern Iraq. Customs intercept live parrots, hawk worth N6 million The Nigeria Customs Service, Seme Area Command, has intercepted live endangered species of African Grey Parrots, Green Parrots and a hawk with a combined value of about N6,859,832. Subsidy: You can’t go on strike, FG tells NLC, TUC The Federal Government, on Thursday, asked the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, to shelve their plan to embark on a nationwide indefinite strike action on October 3. Kaduna tribunal declares Gov’ship election inconclusive The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna has declared the Kaduna governorship election inconclusive. The petition was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru against Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 governorship election held in the state on March 18, 2023. In a split decision of a ratio of 2:1, the three-man tribunal panel led by Justice Victor Oviawe declared that the election was inconclusive and thus directed that a supplementary election should be held by the Independent National Electoral Commission within 90 days. Prophet accused of using charms and live lizard to dodge rent for six months A Zimbabwean Prophet, Madzibaba Simbarashe Comrade Chinyanga has been accused of using unconventional tactics to evade paying six months’ worth of rent. It was alleged that he resorted to charms and even used a live monitoring lizard to intimidate his landlord whenever rent was requested. The landlord who became frustrated with the Prophet's antics, sought assistance from a neighbour who was subsequently assaulted by Madzibaba Simbarashe.
