 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. AMBODE EARMARKED OVER N1 BILLION FOR RENOVATION & SUPPLY OF FURNITURES/EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS.

                                     On friday the 23rd of October 2015,Governor Akinwumi Ambode said his administration has earmarked over N1 billion for renovation and supply of furnitures and education materials across all secondary schools in the state.The Governor,who reiterated the determination of his administration to invest massively in educational sector,said 1,300 teachers from thousands of persons who applied last month will soon be employed to teach in the primary schools in the state.Governor Ambode,who spoke in Ilara-Epe while inaugurating Augustine University,a private university owned by the Catholic Church,also assured of plans of his administration to resolve the lingering crisis in the Lagos State University {LASU}.He said the need to resolve the crisis in the institution prompted the inauguration of new Governing Councils for the institution ad other tertiary institutions ...

ONE OF SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY ''WITS'',TO STAY CLOSED AS THE PROTEST CONTINUES TOMORROW.

                       The University of the Witwaterand in Johannesburg said today sunday that it will remain closed tomorrow  as student protests are set to continue despite a pledge by South African President Jacob Zuma that university fees will not be hiked next year.Protests against tuition increases started at the university,known as ''Wits'',almost two weeks ago and spread to other campuses nationwide.A spokeswoman for Wits confirmed that the university would remain shut.The school'd Senate will meet tomorrow monday to decide when to resume classes.The university said in a statement that ''Our students have decided to continue with their protest.We are disappointed at their decision,as we feel that it will put in jeopardy the academic futures of many students who will not be able to pass or graduate.This will only further entrench and deepen the inequalities in our society''.One more photo below.     ...

LIBYA AUTHORITIES BROUGHT OUT 29 DEAD BODIES OF MIGRANTS FROM THEIR BEACH TODAY.

                      According to the Red Crescent in Libya said 29 bodies thought to belong to migrants have been found on Libyan beaches around a city 160km east of Tripoli.Spokesperson Mohamed al-Misrati said that they had been informed of the bodies by local residents.A team was dispatched and 25 bodies were found,then later another four.No further details were disclosed on the nationalities of the deceased,but authorities in Tripoli reportedly say that they were from Africa.The Red Crescent was expecting to recover several more bodies this sunday,the press agency quoted Misrati as saying.

68 STUDENTS WERE EXPELLED FROM KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY.-REGISTRAR.

                                    In a statement issued by the Registrar of Kogi state university,Dr Yakubu Abubakar in Lokoja today sunday,said 19 of the affected students were expelled for various examination misconduct and 49 others withdrawn for poor academic performance.Some of the students also had their admission withdrawn for failure to register within the stipulated period and wrong entry requirements and that the affected students cut across all the faculties.The Registrar stated that Prof.Mohammed Abdulkadir had been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of the university to take over from Prof.Hassan Isah,whose tenure expired on October 12.He said Abdulkadir had since resumed duty,nothing that until his appointment,he was a professor of economic history from Bayero University,Kano.He further said that the new vice chancellor promised to run an inclusive and consultative administration and...

                          Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC} confirmed that Ex-President Olusegun Oasanjo was not involved in any serious road accident.The FRSC said ''Contrary to reports in the social media platforms that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had a serious crash on Lagos Ibadan expressway today {24-10-2015}.The vehicle in which the former president was traveling only had tyre prolem.President Olusegun Obasanjo moved into the backup vehicle and continued his journey while the blow out tyre was changed and left the scene''.So is because of Obasanjo wanted to changed his tyre,some people started writing that he was in a fatal accident.Na wa ohhh for people.One more photo below.
