PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.                                        A Federal High Court,sitting in Benin-City,Edo State yesterday thursday convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment one Osagie Aghedo Bliss {alias Julbert Stefan,Nesta Gilbert,Isak Krister and Fredrick Cruso} for conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence. Bliss was first arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on 29 January,2013 on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy,possession of fraudulent documents containing false pretences and obtaining by false pretence.Bliss,upon his arraignment,pleaded not guilty to the charges.After diligent prosecution by the EFCC,Justice P.I Ajoku found Bliss guilty on count one of the charge and consequently convicted and sentenced him to two years imprisonment without an option of fine.He was discharged and acquitted on count two and three of the charge.                   A special operation conducted by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 3rd February,2017 on a building belonging to a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation {NNPC}, Dr Andrew Yakubu in Kaduna yielded the recovery of a staggering sum of $9,772,800 {Nine Million,Seven Hundred and Seven Two Thousand,Eight Hundred United States Dollars} and another sum of 74,000 pounds {Seventy Four Thousand Pound Sterling } cash.            A total of 100,000 athletes from 27 countries including Nigeria will be partivipating in the second edition of Access Bank Lagos Marathon billed to hold from 7am to 2pm on February 11,2017. 64 elite athletes from 26 countries and 102 from Nigeria,as well as 30 special athletes will also be participating in the marathon scheduled to start from National Stadium in terminate at Eko Atlantic City in Victoria Island.                  7 Division Nigerian Army has opened dialogue with Yola Electricity Distribution Company for effective metering of barracks within its Area of Responsibility [AOR} in line with Army Headquarters directive.
