 October 1 protest: Ogun court restricts protesters to MKO Abiola Stadium, three other venues A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota. The court presided by Tajudeen. A.Okunsokan gave this order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State in suit no AB/667/2024, and with Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, Lekan Soneye (for themselves and members of the#FearlessInOctober protests); Bestman Okereafor (on behalf of the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students) and Thomas Kehinde (on behalf of the National Association of Ogun Students), as respondents. ANOTHER CHURCH IN BENIN AGAIN,COLLAPSED YESTERDAY SUNDAY.

           This is the second church collapsing in Benin,Edo state.Yesterday sunday,shortly after church service at Liberty Power Bible Church,also known as Power Palace at Asoro slope off Ekenwan Road in Benin city Edo state collapsed.No life was lost as the church was said to be empty when the church collapsed.The owner of the land where the church was being constructed Ajor Sylvanus,said that ''The building collapsed because it was not properly built.The pastor built the church like a fence,no pillar.The block is just ordinary sand.I have been telling him that no pillar would cause the building to collapse.The building fell on my building and damaged many things.When the pastor came,he was concerned about the musical instrument in his church and thanked God that his church members were not around when the building fell.I had to call the police''.

BRITISH FINANCE MINISTER,ANNOUNCED THAT BRITAIN IS TO FREEZE WELFARE PAYMENT FOR 2 YEARS.

            According to the British Finance Minister George Osborne announced today the policy at his Conservative party's annual conference,that there would be no increase in state benefits for two years to save 3.0 Billion pounds.He said it was not fair that benefits have been rising more than earnings.''Working age benefits will have to be frozen for two years.This is the choice that Britain needs to take to protect our economic stability and to secure a better future.Disability and pension benefits are excluded from the charge''.The Finance Minister also have plans to cut a pension inheritance tax in a move expected to benefit the families of hundreds of thousands of people to the tune of 150 Million ponds a year.British Prime Minister David Cameron said yesterday sunday that ''It is not acceptable fr young people under the age of 21 to go straight from school on to benefits and into a home paid for through housing benefit''.One more picture bel

           Remi Olowude,who is the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive oddicer,CEO,of Industrial and General Insurance {IGI} Company,died of prostrate cancer at the age of 63 over the weekend.Osun state Governor,Rauf Aregbesola in a statement through the Diector,Burea of Communication and Strategy,Mr Semiu Okanlawon said that ''The death of Olowude was a big blow to the Insurance world,Osun state and Nigeria as a whole.The late insurance guru was an invaluable asset in the Insurance sector.Olowude's death has undoubtedly robbed the nation and insurance sector of another great personality.Here was a man of immense qualities,who had employed to promote everything ideal in his life time.Olowude,unarguably,distinguished himself in the insurance and business sector to the extent that his name became a house hold name across the country.I,on behalf of the government and people of Osun offer our heartfelt condolences,to the immediate and extended families of the deceased as we
