PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.                  It was reported today that President Muhammadu buhari and other leaders of the Economic Community of West African States,ECOWAS,met with the Gambia President-elect,Adama Barrow,on the second day of their mediation to persuade outgoing President of the country,Yahya Jammeh,to accept the result of December First election.Mr Jammeh,who had earlier accepted defeat and publicly congratulated Mr Barrow,did an about-face few days later announcing that he rejected result.He vowed to conduct fresh elections .His decision not to accept the result has drawn condemnation worldwide including from the UN,ECOWAS,and the U.S.President Buhari and Presidents Ernest Koroma,Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and John Mahama of Sierra Leone,Liberia and Ghana respectively led an ECOWAS delegation to visit Mr Jammeh on tuesday.The leaders are not expected to reveal the details of the mediation until all talks are concluded.However,observers believe apart from a...
