PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs. FG releases 4,068 inmates to decongest prison The Federal Government has reportedly flagged off the release of 4,068 inmates sentenced to various terms of imprisonment with the option of a fine and compensation in custodial centres nationwide. Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, who performed the symbolic release of the inmates at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, Abuja, on Saturday, said the aim was to decongest custodial centres across the country and make them humane for proper reformation and rehabilitation of offenders to take place. He lamented that as of Friday, November 17, 2023, there were about 80,804 inmates in 253 custodial facilities nationwide, and the total installed capacity for the 253 custodial centres adds up to less than 50,000.   Man Rapes, Impregnates 16-Year-Old Girl In Ogun   A 76-year-old man, David Ogunsanwo has been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl (name withheld) in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The septuagenarian was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC). The state Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye confirmed the arrest of the suspect to journalists in Abeokuta on Saturday. Adeleye said the suspect would be charged in court, adding that her ministry will follow through to ensure justice is served. The commissioner, who lamented the increasing rate of sexual abuse cases in the country, appealed to victims to always speak out. Child molestation: Police arrest three, govt shuts Enugu school The Enugu State Police Command has arrested three persons over the alleged sexual molestation of a three-year-old girl (names withheld) at Tenderlink School, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu State. Police investigations showed that the young girl sustained physical injuries and blood stains were observed on her private part after the school bus dropped her at home on Tuesday, November 14. The girl’s female teacher, the school’s bus attendant and the driver, have been arrested for interrogation. This was disclosed by the state Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe in a statement issued on Friday, via the command’s handle on X. It is disrespectful to ask a woman about her body count — Tolanibaj Big Brother Naija reality show star, Tolani Baj has described as ‘disrespectful’ questions about body count from men. According to the reality star, she doesn’t think asking a woman about her body count is right. The reality star said this in the latest Bahd And Boujee Podcast episode hosted by her and actress Moet Abebe. She, however, said it was okay to ask partners about their relationship histories. Tolani Baj said, “If a partner asks me about my exes, relationship history, I’m okay. But something I won’t answer is body count. I feel like, ‘What’s really your business?’ “My body count is not high but I still feel like it’s disrespectful to ask a woman about her body count. It’s not because I’m ashamed to say the amount, it’s just like, ‘Who do you think you’re to be asking me that kind of question?”

A 22-year-old man who was bitten by two dogs which belonged to his employer's neighbour in the Meanwood area which caused his leg to be amputated has called on authorities to intervene in the matter alleging that the owner of the dogs had been so rude. Peter Muvwanga who was working as a garden boy says his life is shuttered as he is now permanently disabled. More photos below.

EPL: Drogba told me to leave Chelsea – Mikel Obi Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has revealed that he left Chelsea based on advice from former team-mate Didier Drogba. Mikel Obi fell out with the newly-appointed manager at the time, Antonio Conte, after he chose to represent Nigeria at the Olympics. After he returned to Stamford Bridge, the Nigerian was frozen out by Conte. However, when Chelsea went into a bad patch, the Italian coach tried to make up with Mikel Obi and restore him to the team. “Conte called me to his office and asked me to play again. I said, ‘No, thank you very much. I have already made up my mind I wanted to go anyway’,” Mikel Obi said on the Vibe with Five podcast. “I spoke to Didier Drogba. Married man arrested for defiling 2-year-old girl, blames alcohol. The police in Adamawa state has arrested a 30 -year-old man, Buguwa Kwaji, for defiling a 2-year-old girl, wh blaming alcohol for the crime.  Kwaji was apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command on the 12 November, 2023 following a tip off. Buguwa, who resides at Aljannaru village in Song LGA where he perpetrated the crime, confessed to defiling the minor, saying he was under the influence of alcohol. “After drinking a gin known as voltage on that fateful day, I lay down, and the little girl came and started playing on my body. So I raped her because I could not resist the urge for sex” Buguwa said He was caught red handed by the elder sister to the victim who raised an alarm as a result of which he nabbed and handed over to the police.  Dubai Police Academy and Dubai Airports sign MoU for enhanced security training   The International Centre for Security and Safety at the Dubai Police Academy (ICSS) and AI International Centre for Security and Safety (AIICSS) signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Airports Corporation on the sidelines of the Dubai Air Show 2023, held recently at DWC.   The memorandum was signed by Brigadier Dr Sultan Abdul Hamid Al Jamal, Director of the Dubai Police Academy; Mr Adel Abdel Hadi, Chief Executive Officer of AIICSS; and Mr Majid Al Joker, Chief Operations Officer at Dubai Airports, for the second party.   The memorandum aims to enhance joint cooperation in the field of training and the exchange of expertise between the sides, ensuring the benefit from the opportunities of joint training activities and events and the exchange of knowledge aimed at qualifying and developing human cadres, enabling them to perform their tasks in law enforcement.

Cassie settles lawsuit accusing Sean Combs of rape and abuse one day after filing Cassie has reached a settlement in a lawsuit she filed against Rapper and music executive Sean Combs accusing him of r@pe and abuse. The announcement of the settlement comes just one day after the singer whose full name is Casandra Ventura, filed the suit against Combs, known as Diddy. "I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control," Ventura said in a statement.
