PSC PROMOTES OVER 8,000 POLICE OFFICERS. (PHOTO).

 PSC Promotes Over 8,000 Police Officers On Wednesday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers. Earlier in the week, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CPs). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) moved up to Assistant Commissioners (ACPs). According to a statement by the PSC's spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the total number of promotions included 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendents, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to DSPs.                           The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today tuesday,January 17,2017,arraigned one Chris Ifeorah and his company,Wigmore Trading Limited,before Justice A,M Nicol-Cray's of the Lagos State High Court,sitting in Igbosere,Lagos on a two-count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining goods by false pretence to the tune of USD 935,971 {Nine-hundred and Seventy-one United States Dollars}.The accused person had allegedly obtained the fast-moving items on credit from the complainant,the Kellogg Company of South Africa {Pty} Limited {Kellogg's SA} in 2015.The complainant further alleged that the accused person,who promised to repay within three moths,became elusive after receiving the items.                                                                The Nigeria Customs Service,Federal Operations Unit Zone 'C' Owerri recorded 307 seizures prohibited goods worth N4,756,277,885.21 {Four Billion,Seven Hundred and Fifty-Sx Million,Two Hundred and Seventy-Seven Thousand,Eight hundred and Eighty-Five Naira,Twenty-One Kobo} in the year 2016.The figure is a combination of both the Duty Paid Value {DPV} of N3,985,931,643.00,and an under payment recovered as revenue of N770,346,242.00.A breakdown of the seized items are: 169 motor vehicles with a DPV of N1,013,005,101.21. 2,725 cartons of narcotics {Indian hemp/hard drugs} with a DPV of N366,835,000.00, 1,759 pairs,85 cartons and 68 sacks/bales of foot wears with DPV of N28,234,060.00, 7,795 soap/detergents/tpiletries with a DPV of N58,889,181, 107,006 cartons of impor...

4 GAMBIA MINISTERS JUST RESIGNED FROM PRESIDENT JAMMEH'S GOVERNMENT.

                 According to sources,four Gambia Ministers resign from President Jammeh government.The four Ministers are{1} Minister for finance,{2}Foreign Affairs {3} Trade and {4} Minister for Environment.The resignation were announced today tuesday less than a day after the country's Chief Justice Emmanuel Fagbenle pulled out of a case filed by Jammeh seeking to stop the inaguration of President-elect Adama Barrow.This is a big blow to Jammeh's government.The inauguration is scheduled for this thursday,when Barrow is expected to return from Senegal.
