 SANWO-OLU SIGNS 2025 APPROPRIATION BILL •Says N3.366trn budget will build on past gains, scale up impact for future •Lagos Internal Revenue Service has crossed N1 trillion in IGR — Assembly   Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill tagged "Budget of Sustainability." Governor Sanwo-Olu signed the budget, which is N3.366 trillion, at the Lagos House, Ikeja, during a ceremony attended by his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hazmat; Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG), Barr (Mrs.) Bimbola Salu-Hudeyin; members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, led by the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Appropriation and Finance, Hon. Sa’ad Olumoh; and members of the State Executive Council, among others.  Transfer: Portuguese side signs 19-year-old Nigerian-born footballer Yaqub Usman-Malah.

Brito Sporting Club of Portugal has signed an official contract with a United Kingdom-based Nigerian youngster, Yaqub Usman-Malah.


The official unveiling of the youngster took place on Saturday, January 4, 2025.


Yaqub, born in Nigeria in 2006, is a budding Nigerian talent.


Before his official contract with Brito Sporting Club of Portugal, he was a student and trainee player at Brooke College Football Academy in the United Kingdom.


At Brooke College Football Academy, Yaqub achieved an impressive record, scoring 17 goals in 32 matches with no injuries over 116 training days, amounting to 2,270 minutes of on-field action.


Tomasz Wasylik, the lead coach of the Under-17B team that Yaqub played with, clearly testified to his outstanding performance at the academy.


Coach Wasylik described Yaqub as a “well-liked person” and a role model to his teammates due to his professionalism and unmatched work ethic.


The coach further stated that Yaqub participated in National School Cup competitions against other colleges and programs during the 2023/2024 session. He described Yaqub as a good “tactical player,” “technically good,” and someone who can “play in multiple positions on the field.”


It is expected that Yaqub will fulfil the potential and promise identified by Coach Tomasz Wasylik of Brooke College Football Academy and achieve greatness at his new club.
