Scorpion stings man’s testicles at 5-star hotel; considers legal action

A man lodged in a five-star hotel woke up in pain with a scorpion attached to his testicles. He is now considering legal action against the luxury hotel.

Michael Farchi, the guest at the luxury Venetian resort in Las Vegas is considering the legal action after being left in ‘excruciating pain’ when a scorpion bit his testicles as he slept.

Farchi of Agora Hills, California, was staying at The Venetian over Christmas when he was suddenly awoken in the middle of the night in agonizing pain.

‘I just felt like someone stabbing me in my private area,’ DailyMail reported Farchi as saying.

After going to the restroom to investigate, he saw a scorpion ‘hanging’ on his underwear.

Photographs from the dreaded scorpion attack show proof of the terrifying bright orange eight-legged animal.

The orange scorpion was most likely an Arizona bark scorpion – the only type of the species that is considered ‘deadly’.

In one of the photos, the poisonous creature was attached to Farchi’s blue pair of Reebok boxers, standing up his claims of the biting incident.

Staff at The Venetian resort don’t know how the scorpion got into the hotel room, according to Farchi – who said he didn’t even want to know.

‘It just was under my cover,’ the unlucky hotel guest said.

Rooms at the luxury Las Vegas resort can range from $250 to a whopping $2,500 per night.

Farchi filed a medical incident report at 8 am., stating ‘I have been bitten by scorpion at my groin/testicles.’

When asked what injuries were sustained – Farchi wrote ‘a lot of pain.’

The medical report asked responders to indicate which body part was ‘hurt’ using an ‘X’ accompanied by a sketch of the human body. Farchi drew an ‘X’ over the groin area of the picture.

‘When you check into a hotel you expect to be safe,’ Farchi’s attorney Brian Virag said.

Virag said this has been a traumatic experience for his client.

‘I’m certain that The Venetian – like every major hotel – has policies and procedures in place to avoid something like this,’ the attorney said.

‘However,’ he added, ‘its one thing to have policies and procedures in place, its another thing to make sure they’re followed.’

The Venetian has claimed that procedures were followed. ‘The resort has protocols for all incidents and we can confirm they were followed in this incident,’ the hotel said in a statement
