  D oja Cat Overtakes Cardi B as Second Highest-Selling Female Rapper in History American rapper Doja Cat has surpassed Cardi B to become the second highest-selling female rapper globally, as confirmed by Billboard. Nicki Minaj retains the top position both in the U.S. and worldwide. In the U.S., Doja Cat now ranks second, followed by Megan Thee Stallion in third, and Cardi B in fourth. Globally, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Cardi B are the top three highest-selling female rappers. Billboard's rankings, based on performance on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts, also named Taylor Swift the biggest artist of the 21st century, Drake as the top rapper, Maroon 5 as the biggest group, and Destiny's Child as the top girl group.  NSC reassigns key personnel to revitalize National Sports Federations


In a bid to reposition Nigeria's sports industry for enhanced performance and economic growth, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced the reassignment of Secretary-Generals and officers across various National Sports Federations. This was contained in a statement Issued by the Special Adviser Media to the Director General, National Sports Commission (NSC), Kola Daniel.


According to the Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes, Olumide Bamiduro, this strategic move aligns with the vision of NSC leadership under Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olopade. “The mandate is clear,” Bamiduro stated. “These changes are designed to deliver results, attract private and corporate investments, and drive the growth of our sports economy.” 


The NSC has issued a directive to its Federation Establishment and Appointment Department to implement the new postings effectively. This decision reflects the Commission’s commitment to fostering innovation, grassroots development, and elite sports performance across the nation.


A total of 57 Secretary-Generals and five officers have been reassigned to various federations, where they are expected to play critical roles in achieving the NSC’s goals for Nigeria’s sports sector. This development is seen as a significant step toward positioning Nigeria's sports industry as a hub for talent and economic development.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
