 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Ogun State Announces Recruitment for OgunTEACh Internship Program


The Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB), has announced the recruitment of suitable candidates for the Ogun State Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh) Internship Program. This special intervention scheme aims to address existing vacancies in public primary, secondary, and technical colleges across the state.


Eligible applicants must hold at least a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Education (B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed/B.Ed) with a Second Class Lower in relevant subjects. Candidates from non-education disciplines are required to possess a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized university. For technical college positions, applicants must have a B.Sc. Ed in Technical Education, B.Sc. in Engineering, B.Eng., or Higher National Diploma (HND) in engineering fields.


Interested candidates are required to apply through the Ogun State Job Portal by visiting www.teach.ogunstate.gov.ng. The online registration will be open from Wednesday, October 16th, to Wednesday, November 6th, 2024.


Successful applicants, referred to as TEACh-Interns, will be deployed to local government areas where their services are most needed. They will receive a monthly stipend for a period of two years, during which their performance will be assessed based on their expertise, commitment to duty, punctuality, respect for authority, and their willingness to serve in their assigned locations.
