 Atiku Meets Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday paid a visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja. The encounter is their first since Jonathan returned from an election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau. Sharing pictures of the meeting on his verified social media platforms on Sunday, Atiku wrote, “It was a pleasure catching up with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening, following his recent return from Guinea-Bissau.” Jonathan, who served as President from 2010 to 2015, lost his re-election bid in 2015 to Muhammadu Buhari. The visit comes days after Atiku’s official defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), having resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party over claims that the party had strayed from the principles of its founding fathers. There are indications that Atiku may emerge as the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. One more photo below.

 Guwahati Police arrested a well-known cybercriminal, Firdoz Alam, from the Hatigaon area on Monday.  During the operation, the police seized 464 ATM cards from his possession, making it one of the largest recoveries of its kind in recent times. Firdoz Alam was reportedly running a fraud racket from a rented house in the Sijubari area. According to officials, he used documents of different people to open fake bank accounts. These accounts were then used to create ATM cards, which he supplied to other cybercriminals for illegal financial activities. Police also found a card-printing machine and several bank passbooks, mostly from Bandhan Bank, during the raid. Alam’s network is believed to have links in other districts like Nagaon and Morigaon, indicating that the fraud was spread over a wide area.  Ten men were arrested in Odisha’s Ganjam district for allegedly gang-raping a 20-year-old female college student at the Gopalpur sea beach on Sunday evening.  The survivor was with her male friend celebrating the Raja festival when the incident occurred. According to the police complaint, the couple was sitting at a quiet spot on the beach when around 10 men arrived on motorcycles. They allegedly started taking photos of the two and threatened to leak them online. The group then reportedly beat up the male friend, tied his hands, and dragged the woman to a nearby abandoned house. There, three of the accused allegedly took turns to sexually assault her. The police acted swiftly and arrested all ten men involved. Medical examinations of both the survivor and the suspects are being conducted, and the survivor’s condition is reported to be stable.  LAWYERS ALLEGE R. KELLY OVERDOSED, MURDER PLOT Following an incident in which R&B superstar R. Kelly was hospitalized for two days, his lawyers alleged prison officials gave him an overdose of his medications and plotted to get him cancelled by an inmate. Kelly's legal team alleged that prison officials placed the singer in solitary confinement before giving him an overdose of his sleep and anxiety medications on June 12, 2025. "He started to see black spots in his vision," his team said. "Mr. Kelly tried to get up, but fell to the ground. He crawled to the door of the cell and lost consciousness." Correctional medical staff rushed the 58-year-old by ambulance to Duke University Hospital when they could not help him, but he was allegedly evacuated after two days of treatment against medical advice - and returned to jail. "We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran," Trump wrote on social media. He said the US is able to liquidate Iran easily despite the country's impressive air equipment.  A Texas woman devised a Father's Day Prank on all of the fathers in her church's congregation. Kristin Combo had what she called "a holy spirit idea" for a Father's Day prank. She decided to prank a group of dads at St. Ann's Catholic Parish. Her and a group of moms all ordered the exact same shirt as a present for Father's Day.   What started out as a prank between a small group of moms began to snowball as more and more parishioners joined in on the prank. I love these women. 😂  The result: 200 dads showed up for church wearing the exact same shirt to the delight of their families. Images of the father's all wearing the same shirt is beginning to go viral online leading Combo to state she believes God was in on the prank and is laughing from heaven. Great job, ladies. It's good to know 200 men listened when you told them which shirt they had to wear to church.

 A Florida father made the ultimate sacrifice on Father's Day. 33-year-old Antwon Wilson was enjoying Father's Day at the beach in Ft. Lauderdale with his daughters when everything changed for this family. Circumstances required their father to step up and show what a father's love means and Antwon did not hesitate. The incident unfolded shortly after 7 P.M. only minutes after lifeguards finished their last shift of the day. As Antwon was in the water he noticed his young  daughter was struggling in the rough surf. When seconds counted and his young daughters life hung in the balance Antwon sprang into action. Antwon struggled through the rough waters and managed to reach his daughter. He was then able to keep her afloat until  lifeguards who fortunately hadn't left for the day, could make it to his daughter. Sadly, after handing his daughter off to the lifeguards Antwon was immediately pulled underwater. Antwon was recovered from the water only minutes later. Both fath...

 The fashion world lost a bright light Saturday night when Project Runway star Arthur Folasa Ah Loo was tragically killed at an anti-Trump rally in Salt Lake City.   The 39-year-old Samoan-American designer and father of two was caught in crossfire when another protester brandished a rifle at the "No Kings" rally. Arthur had recently become a US citizen and cast his first vote in the 2024 election.   Utah Rep. Verona Mauga, who knew Arthur, said he "believed in equity and equality for all people" and was there supporting his community. The talented designer worked on Moana 2 costumes and co-founded the Creative Pacific Foundation. His family's GoFundMe has already raised over $173,000.

 NIGERIAN WOMAN RISKS 20 YEARS IN INDIAN JAIL FOR DRUGS  Ifeoluwa Akinwunmi, a 25-year-old Nigerian woman, risks up to 20 years jail in India after being arrested with banned substances. Akinwunmi, reportedly a hairstylist and nail artist, was arrested by operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch in Bengaluru. She was caught with a bag containing 5.325 kilograms of MDMA crystals, a banned party drug, worth over N1.8 billion. She was waiting for someone beside the road when operatives swooped on her. “She is a courier," a police officer said. "She had come to hand over the drugs to a group of African peddlers." Akinwunmi faces 10-20 years in prison for possessing the banned drug in commercial quantity. She also faces fine and deportation after serving her prison term.

 COURT GRANTS BAIL TO 70-YEAR-OLD MAN ACCUSED OF VANDALISING PUBLIC ASSET A Magistrate Court in Bolade, Oshodi, on Monday granted bail to a 70-year-old suspect, Mr. Kayode Otitoju, who was arraigned on a two-count charge after he was arrested on Sunday at Lekki Phase 1 for vandalising an ongoing fence work project by the canal setback being undertaken by the State Government. The Court granted the accused, who pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges preferred against him, bail after an application by the defence counsel, Oluwaseun Ettu, Esq., for bail on the most lenient terms, including N200,000 bond, One Surety, Presentation of three-year tax receipts and Verification of address. The case has been adjourned to 25th July 2025 for commencement of the trial. However, the accused is yet to meet the bail conditions at the time of compiling this report.

 Serial burglar nabbed again with stolen wires in Ogun A 26-year-old serial offender, Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, has again been arrested for burglary, his fifth arrest for similar crimes. Ibrahim was caught with stolen aluminium and electrical wires, which he allegedly removed from a building behind the fence of Living Faith Tabernacle, popularly known as Winners Chapel, in Ogun State. Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, apprehended him during a routine patrol. According to a statement issued by the Office of the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, and signed by Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, on Monday, the burglar was caught by the Iyesi Area Command team while loitering suspiciously.  Tiwa Savage halts London concert after spotting former teacher in crowd Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage, halted her performance at a London concert after sighting her former teacher in the crowd. Savage, during her performance at the Little Simz’ Meltdown Festival Show, paused and stepped down from the stage to meet a teacher who taught her English some years back. In a now trending video on social media, the songstress walked up to the man to give him a hug and had a brief chat with him. Walking towards him, she shouted “This is my English teacher”. The incident excited the crowd and got them screaming. This is coming a few days after Tee Billz, the singer’s estranged husband, called her out for not having enough time for their son, Jamal.  Nigeria’s inflation drops to 22.97% The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, on Monday, announced that Nigeria’s headline inflation rate has dropped to 22.97 percent. NBS said the May 2025 headline inflation rate decreased 0.74 per cent compared to the April headline inflation rate. According to the statistics office, inflation declined significantly to 1.53 percent in May from 1.86 percent in April, on a month-on-month basis. This indicated a slower pace in the rise of prices across the economy. On a year-on-year basis, the NBS said the headline inflation rate was 10.98 per cent lower than the rate recorded in May 2024 (33.95 per cent). It stated that the easing in inflation was driven by a slowdown in price increases across key segments, including farm produce, utilities, clothing, and health. Taking minds aback, Nedu posted an official statement on his IG on the 14th of February, 2025 where he disclosed that he had left the popular honest bunch podcast following the controversies he was involved in.  Nigerians thought it was the usual breaks celebrities take to control damages, but, with the recent replacement even after the allegations have died down, one would conclude that there is absolutely no manual to life. BIKE SNATCHER KILLS OKADA MAN IN MAKURDI 17th June, 2025      |      10:57 AM Tragedy struck on Monday night in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, as suspected bike snatchers shot and killed a man identified as Joseph Abeegye. The incident Citizen Television gathered reportedly occurred along Nyesom Wike Road, where the assailants gunned down Abeegye and made away with his motorcycle.

 South Africa: At least 12 EFF party supporters dead, dozens injured in bus crash At least 12 supporters of South Africa's Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party have died, and 32 others were injured in a bus crash, EFF says on Tuesday, TRT Afrika reported. According to EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo, the accident occurred near the town of Vryheid just after midnight as the group was returning to Pretoria from a Youth Day rally in Durban on Monday. A preliminary report from the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) says the bus was struck on its side by an oncoming truck, ripping it open, state media outlet SABC reports. KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma told journalists he received a report shortly after midnight indicating 10 fatalities.  In an almost unbelievable story, 88 children were rescued from an Iowa church "summer camp" and are now in protective custody! The Louisa County Sheriff's Department said they now have 88 children in protective custody after conducting a child saftey operation. According to reports, the Sheriff's Office swept into the Shekinah Glory Summer Camp in Columbus Junction, Iowa on Thursday, June 12th and Friday, June 13th. The operation was in response to multiple reports of child a**** and endangerment regarding the children who were attending.  After conducting their operation, the children were loaded onto buses and taken to a nearby church to meet with child protection workers. It was understandably a very chaotic scene.
