  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  TWO KILLED, SEVERAL INJURED IN AUTO CRASH IN KOGI COMMUNITY  A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of two persons in Alome Ejule, located in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, according to eyewitness accounts. Residents said the crash occurred within the community and left several others injured. Eyewitnesses identified one of the deceased as Shehu, said to be from Odu Okpakili Ogane in Ejule. The second victim, a woman, was reportedly from Agojeju Ejule. Sources at the scene disclosed that multiple victims sustained varying degrees of injuries during the accident. The injured were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.

Isiaka of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in Kaduna has convicted and jailed the trio of Aliyu Hassan, Samuel Olamide and Solomon Joseph Christian for fraud.  They were prosecuted by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on separate one-count charge, bordering on criminal impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.  The charge against Hassan reads: "That you, Aliyu Hassan (a.k.a Ottaviani Loverules Giovanni) on or about the 9th of February, 2026 in Kaduna within the jurisdiction of the Honourable Court, impersonated one Ottaviani Loverules Giovanni (a citizen of Brazil) via Facebook platform and in such assumed character, you defrauded one Kerry the sum of N90,000.00 (Ninety Thousand Naira, only) and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 142(1) of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017 and punishable under the same law.” Olamide’s charge reads: "That you, S...

 Yoruba Nation Activist Sunday Igboho Returns to Nigeria After Years in Exile Chief Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, the prominent Yoruba Nation activist, has returned to Nigeria following his removal from the Federal Government's wanted list under President Bola Tinubu's administration. Igboho arrived in Ibadan on Monday, January 26, 2026, marking his first major public appearance since fleeing the country in 2021 amid a security raid on his residence.   While in tears , The Traditional ruler of Lilu town of Anambra state Thanks his subjects for putting hands together to make sure peace returns to the once Ghost town of Lilu.  He recounted how he has been away for four years because of the high risk of staying in Lilu. Lilu was one of the numerous towns in Anambra state that was affected by the notorious activities of Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa Biafran agitators.  Congratulations to them and Ndi Anambra for taking the bull by the horn in regards to insecurity in Anambra state.

 Mob justice gone wrong at Ga-Tibu village  A manhunt of unknown suspect(s)has been intensified by the Phaudi police after a male victim was allegedly found brutally murdered at Ga-Tibu village on Friday,  01 August 2025. At about 21:00, police received a complaint about a murder incident in the area and rushed to the vicinity.  On arrival, they found a male victim who was laying motionless with blood stained bricks surrounding him while naked. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched and found the victim naked and laying on his back.  Unfortunately, he was declared dead and was positively identified by the next of kin at the scene as Johannes Mokwatedi, a resident at Ga-Tibu village. Police request anyone with information that can assist with the arrest of the unknown suspect(s) to contact the Investigating Officer, Constable Lethabo Mokgonyana on 0825814800.

 CANADIAN COURT TO SENTENCE NIGERIAN TEACHER FOR BEATING STUDENTS A Canadian court has found a Nigerian teacher guilty of punishing students with a cane - calling it assault with a weapon.  Although it's normal for teachers to strike students with a cane in Africa, it is against the law in Canada and John Olubobokun now has a case to answer for beating nine students. Olubobokun, a former director of a private Christian school in Saskatoon, Canada - Legacy Christian Academy from 2003 to 2007 - was charged with beating nine students with a wooden paddle. The court heard testimonies from the students and ruled that how the teacher disciplined students negated Section 43 law of Canada. Olubobokun now awaits sentencing.
