 An awaiting trial prisoner has escaped from Thabazimbi Hospital He was under police guard. He still managed to walk out. Thabazimbi police have launched a manhunt for 30-year-old Sibongeseni Khumalo. The escape happened on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at about 18h00. Khumalo was in custody for business robbery. Police shot and arrested him, then admitted him to hospital under guard. He reportedly asked to use the bathroom and never returned. The claim that he simply went to the bathroom and escaped raises serious questions. How does a guarded suspect vanish inside a hospital? That gap needs clear answers.
