The Al-Nassr star’s aircraft was tracked flying from Riyadh to Madrid late Monday night. According to flight data, the jet took off around 8pm and arrived in the Spanish capital about seven hours later, landing shortly after 1am. Tracking services showed the plane traveled west, passing over Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea before reaching Spain. Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr but previously spent many successful years in Madrid with Real Madrid. The flight happened amid growing regional tensions, which reportedly led to heightened security measures in Riyadh.

 An awaiting trial prisoner has escaped from Thabazimbi Hospital He was under police guard. He still managed to walk out. Thabazimbi police have launched a manhunt for 30-year-old Sibongeseni Khumalo. The escape happened on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at about 18h00. Khumalo was in custody for business robbery. Police shot and arrested him, then admitted him to hospital under guard. He reportedly asked to use the bathroom and never returned. The claim that he simply went to the bathroom and escaped raises serious questions. How does a guarded suspect vanish inside a hospital? That gap needs clear answers. The victims, Mr. Michael Mbam and Mr. Jonathan Mbam, said the incident occurred while they were away from home. According to them, neighbours alerted them after noticing thick smoke rising from their compound. By the time they arrived, the inferno had already consumed their yam barns and other goods, leaving them devastated. The Federal Government today Tuesday, has formally flagged off a nationwide  public enlightenment campaign on the ban of alcohol drinks packaged in sachets, small PET and glass bottles below 200 millilitres. There was a  joint press conference held in Abuja which was organised by the National Orientation Agency in collaboration with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. Speaking at the briefing, NAFDAC Director-General, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, said that the enforcement follows years of consultations, extensions, and alarming survey findings on alcohol consumption among minors. Adeyeye highlighted that discussions around regulating high concentration alcohol in sachets were  dated back to 2018, when industry groups raised concerns about the impact on their businesses. The Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel has suspended the Medical Director of Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital, Dr. Tunde Majekodunmi, and two other doctors over the death of 21-month-old Nkanu Adichie-Esege, son of renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The panel invoked its order of suspension after establishing a prima facie case of medical negligence in the management of the toddler, who died on January 7, 2026, following medical care in Lagos. Also suspended from medical practice in Nigeria are the anesthesiologist at Euracare, Dr. Titus Ogundare, and the Chief Medical Officer at Atlantis Pediatric Hospital, Dr. Atinuke Uwajeh. The trio will remain barred from practising pending the determination of their case by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.  ‎A former senator representing Anambra North, Emmanuel Anosike, has emerged as Chairman of the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress. ‎ ‎Anosike, who also chairs the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Commission, was elected through a consensus arrangement at the party’s state congress held at its headquarters in Awka on Tuesday. ‎ ‎Announcing the outcome, the Chairman of the State Congress Committee and Returning Officer, Williams Kayoda, declared the consensus list of State Executive Committee members, which he said was endorsed by about 2,100 delegates through voice affirmation. ‎ ‎Kayoda named Chief Chidi Orji as Vice Chairman and Obi Okpala as Secretary, among other executive members, stating that the process complied with Articles 14 and 20 of the party’s constitution, which provide for consensus in the election of officers.

Uzoka-Anite will now move to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, as the Minister of State, her third portfolio in the administration.  President Tinubu has today conveyed the nomination of Oyedele to the Senate for confirmation in a letter to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. Until President Tinubu nominated him as a minister, Oyedele from Ikaram, Akoko, Ondo State, was the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, which overhauled Nigeria’s tax system.  Oyedele, 50, is an economist, accountant and public policy expert.
