 Anambra Partners IPMAN to Crack Down on Adulterated Petroleum Products By Nonye Muo/Nwanneka Okechukwu Anambra State Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has joined forces with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Enugu Depot unit, to crack down on petrol stations with tampered meters and adulterated products.  The partnership was formalized when IPMAN's Enugu Depot unit delegation met with the commissioner,  Anthony Ifeanya (Esq) at his office in Awka.  Australian authorities on Sunday (February 2) confirmed that one person had died and urged thousands of people in north Queensland state to move to higher ground due to flooding caused by torrential rains. Police confirmed that a member of the public had died after a State Emergency Service vessel capsized. Five people were rescued from the vessel. The flooding was triggered by heavy rain from a low pressure system rich in tropical moisture, Australia's weather forecaster said on its website, adding that 24-hour rainfall totals were likely up to 300 mm (11.8 inches). Frequent flooding has hit Australia's east in recent years including "once in a century" floods that inundated neighbouring Northern Territory in January 2023 during a multi-year La Nina weather event.

 HOW 28 PASSENGERS BURNT TO DEATH IN ONDO ROAD CRASH No fewer than 28 people have been confirmed dead in the tragic accident that occured in Ore, Ondo State, on Saturday.  R2 Million Sports Complex Washed Away: Greater Tubatse Municipality’s Costly Blunder Greater Tubatse Municipality wasted R2million constructing sports complex in a donga at Praktiseer during 2002 and heavy rains washed it away. An audit conducted by Sizwe Ntsaluba Vsp Forensics revealed that R88 000 allocated to youth projects may have been taken. According to the report R39 631,77 of the money could not be accounted for even though R21 500 was spend on unfinished car wash project that was latter demolished to pave ways for construction of a taxi rank. The income generated from the car wash was deposited into personal savings account of former ward councillor Collins Dlamini now Community Development Coodinator ‘s younger brother Sipho Chauke as it was not registered with the Department of Social welfare as a section 21 company, Non profit organisation(NPO).  More photos below.
