NASA’s Webb telescope discovers a new small moon orbiting Uranus  NASA’s Webb Space Telescope has discovered a new tiny moon orbiting Uranus. The moon, revealed Tuesday by NASA, is estimated to be only six miles (10 kilometers) wide. It was detected by Webb’s near-infrared camera during observations conducted in February. Scientists believe the moon went unnoticed for decades—including during Voyager 2’s flyby roughly 40 years ago—because of its small size and faint visibility. Uranus now has 29 confirmed moons, with the new discovery adding to the 28 already known. All of Uranus’s moons are named after characters from Shakespeare or Alexander Pope, and roughly half are smaller moons that orbit closer to the planet. This latest moon has yet to receive an official name.
