The country’s state internet regulator claimed the platform was being used to organize terrorist activity, recruit individuals for crimes, commit fraud, and carry out other illegal acts. Alongside the FaceTime restrictions, officials confirmed that the messaging app Snapchat has also been blocked, a move that was quietly carried out in early October but only publicly disclosed now. Apple has not publicly responded to the allegations. New fields will need to meet these standards immediately, and teams will have two years to bring existing surfaces—whether natural grass, synthetic, or hybrid—into compliance. Pappas explained that artificial surfaces are typically replaced every two to three years, while natural fields can be refreshed multiple times within a season. The approval process involves rigorous testing overseen by a joint committee with the NFL Players Association. Tools like the BEAST, which replicates player movements, and the STRIKE Impact Tester, which measures field firmness, will help ...

Image
The accompaning video, trended a couple of days ago. It is testament to the fact that Nigerian social media space has become one of the most unregulated in the world.  Laying very serious allegations have become a common trait to attract millions of views without recourse to the damaging effects on the people involved. Knowing that there could be evasion of consequences because they can easily prey on the emotions of Nigerians encourages this deviant behavior. This case and many others has now clearly justified the urgent need for the social media bill in the national assembly. You can’t lie to make money and turn around to apologize after criminally defaming and hurting people. It is time for social media companies to be mandated to open offices in Nigeria and to take responsibility for what they allow on their platforms. If landlords are being threatened with punishments for actions of their tenants who are yahoo boys, what stops social media companies from being held resp...

Officials noted that while carbon dioxide is commonly used and safe when handled correctly, improper handling can displace oxygen in the air, posing serious health risks or even death.
