 Gunmen Abduct Catholic Priest From Zaria Diocese Residence   According to Sahara Reporters, the Catholic Diocese of Zaria in Kaduna State has confirmed the abduction of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ezema from his residence at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Rumi. The incident reportedly occurred late on Tuesday night, alarming parishioners and the wider community.   In a statement released on Wednesday, signed by the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. DATE: 04 December 2025 Rivers State Police Command The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public that on 04/12/2025 at about 0100hrs, the five abducted victims—Prince London ‘M’, Azubuike Kelechukwu ‘M’, Elizabeth Aniete ‘F’, Onyebuchi Precious ‘M’, and London Sampson ‘M’ who were abducted by yet-to-be-identified cultists from their isolated residences, have been successfully rescued unhurt. The rescue operation was conducted at Rumudogo 2 Community in Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State by the Command’s Tactical Teams, in collaboration with other sister security agencies and with the support of the community.  FG Begins Direct Payments to Over 42,000 TVET Students, 600 Training Centres Nationwide. The Federal Government has commenced the first tranche of direct financial payments under its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative, reaching more than 42,000 students and over 600 independent training centres across the country. Each of the 42,000 beneficiaries has received a monthly stipend of N22,500 to cover upkeep and transportation costs, enabling them to concentrate fully on their skills acquisition programmes.  Simultaneously, more than 600 private and independent technical and vocational centres have been paid for delivering instruction and hands-on training, ensuring programme quality and continuity.  An Elderly Texas couple who went missing after visiting friends for Thanksgiving were found deceased in a pasture. 82-year-old Charles "Gary" Lightfoot and his wife Linda Lightfoot, spent their Thanksgiving with friends in the Texas Panhandle. When the couple left at approximately 3:00 p.m. in their silver Toyota Camry, no one could have guessed they would never be seen alive again. When the couple failed to return to their Lubbock, Texas, home friends and family grew increasingly concerned. Eventually, the two were reported missing, and a Silver Alert was activated.  Charles and Linda were believed to be in immediate danger due to Charles requiring oxygen and neither one of them having a cellphone. Friends and family would have their hopes for a safe recovery lifted when license plate readers picked up their vehicle in two different locations in New Mexico. AUTHORITIES IN MARYLAND ARE SEARCHING FOR A HEARTLESS MAN WHO DOUSED A DOG IN GASOLINE AND LIT IT ON FIRE. (PHOTO).

 Authorities in Maryland are searching for a heartless man who doused a dog in gasoline and lit it on fire.  First responders in Prince George County received a series of confusing calls on Monday, December 1st, at around 6:30 p.m.  Some callers relayed an awful incident they had witnessed. The callers reported seeing a man douse a dog in gasoline before setting it on fire.  These calls were interspersed with others reporting a brush fire in the same area. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were startled to learn both were factual.  Once on scene, firefighters found a pitbull on fire along with the surrounding brush.  Firefighters determined the dog had run into the brush after being set ablaze, causing the brush fire.  After extinguishing the flames, the first responders were able to access the dog's condition.  Undocumented Mozambican Shop Owner Arrested for Stolen Firearm • A 30-year-old undocumented Mozambican spaza shop owner was arrested in Embalenhle on Wednesday, 03 December 2025. • The arrest was carried out by the Secunda-based Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit, with support from the Secunda K9 Unit. •Information received on 24 November 2025 indicated that the suspect, who operates a spaza shop at Embalenhle Gate 6, was in possession of a firearm. • Hawks officers conducted surveillance and later obtained a search warrant. • During the operation on 03 December, the search warrant was executed and a firearm, reported stolen in March 2021, was recovered with its serial number intact. • Six live rounds of ammunition were also seized. • The firearm will undergo ballistic testing to check if it is linked to other crimes. • The suspect is expected to appear before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 04 December 2025.

 TROOPS SMASH BANDIT STRONGHOLDS IN SOUTHERN TARABA, FORCE FIGHTERS TO FLEE 4th December, 2025   Nigerian troops have dismantled multiple bandit hideouts in Southern Taraba, pushing fleeing fighters across the border into Benue State, military sources confirmed Thursday. The offensive, part of Operation Peace Shield and Operation Zafin Wuta, involved the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke. Targets included a network of bandit enclaves in Shiid village, Tor-Tser, Likam Mountain, Agia, and Tyozua in Takum Local Government Area. The operation began at 0207 hours on December 7, based on credible intelligence of armed groups using the mountainous terrain as a stronghold.
