 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.  Court Convicts Man for Hawking Naira Notes in Lagos   The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  on Friday, June 27, 2025, secured the conviction and sentence of one Emmanuel Ayodele Areola before Justice Deinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.   Areola was arraigned on a one-count charge of hawking Naira notes to the the tune of N1,061,500 (One Million and Sixty-one Thousand, Five Hundred Naira).    The charge reads: “That you, EMMANUEL AYODELE AREOLA, on the 8th day of November, 2024 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, engaged in hawking the total sum of N1,061,500 (One Million Sixty one Thousand Five Hundred Naira only) in N200 Naira note denomination, with serial numbers to A/26 306876 to A/26 306976, W/50 084001 to W/50 084901, Z/12 224896 to Z/12224545 and  N500 Naira note denomination, with serial numbers K/06388879 to K/06388980 and K/06 748246 to K/07...

 Kaduna Government Refutes El-Rufai’s Claim Over Projects Commissioned By President Tinubu The Kaduna State Government has rejected claims made by former governor Nasir El-Rufai that all recently commissioned projects in the state by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were initiated during his tenure. In an official statement released by Ibraheem Musa, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, the government clarified that the projects in question were actually conceptualized and executed under Governor Sani’s administration.  South Korea Arrests 6 Americans for Attempting to Send Bibles, Rice to North Korea South Korean police have arrested six American nationals caught trying to send bottles filled with rice, one-dollar bills, and Bibles to North Korea from Ganghwa Island. The group, aged between their 20s and 50s, was detained early Friday for violating safety laws.  Authorities say the area, just 10km from the North, was declared a danger zone due to past propaganda tensions. President Lee Jae-myung, who recently took office, has adopted a more conciliatory stance, halting loudspeaker broadcasts as North Korea also ceased its own provocative transmissions.

  Nigerian Man Arrested in U.S. for Multimillion-Dollar Fraud Targeting Veterans' Health Group Edikan Adiakpan, 33, has been arrested in the U.S. over a business email scam that defrauded multiple organizations, including a veterans’ medical research group.  Borno Pays ₦529.7m WASSCE Fees for 26,000 Students The Borno State Government has paid ₦529.7 million to cover 2025 WASSCE fees for 26,158 final-year students in public schools.  Commissioner for Education, Lawan Wakilbe, said the move reflects Governor Zulum’s commitment to inclusive education. Since 2019, the state has spent over ₦4.1 billion on exam fees for 165,442 students. WAEC praised the state’s efforts, noting improved access and reduced out-of-school children despite security challenges.

 Kogi Establishes Special Court for Energy Offences Kogi State has set up a special court to handle energy theft, vandalism, and related cases. Chief Magistrate Ajagu Oyiza Josephine Abedoh will lead the court, which is now operational.  Chief Judge Justice Josiah Majebi said cases will be fast-tracked, supported by practice guidelines from NERC. The move aims to strengthen energy infrastructure and boost investor confidence.

 Sudan’s al-Burhan agrees to ceasefire in El-Fasher after phone call with UN chief Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Friday approved a seven-day humanitarian ceasefire in the city of El-Fasher, capital of North Darfur state in western Sudan. The decision came following a phone call from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, according to a statement from the Sovereign Council, Anadolu Agency reported. Guterres requested the implementation of a week-long truce in the besieged city of El-Fasher to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need. The statement said Burhan agreed to the ceasefire and emphasised the importance of enforcing relevant UN Security Council resolutions.  IT'S WEIRD TO OWN MANY CARS - MADE KUTI Made, grandson of the legendary Afrobeats musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, said he finds it weird to own several cars. “I just find it weird to own so many cars,” he said. “I’m the kind of person who just does what he wants. Maybe my dad was very clever with how he raised us. I don’t care much about materialistic things." Made Kuti said cars depreciate fast and do not provide real material joy to people. According to him, personal development is more important than accumulating physical possessions.  "How many cars do you need to drive? I genuinely don’t understand why you need 7, 8 cars. They are depreciating assets. In the next couple of years, they will depreciate."

 Troy Cannon, the former Marion County (Illinois) coroner has been charged with seven aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges against minor children that were in his care. This totals seven class one felonies. He could face multiple years in prison.  The courts admonished Troy Cannon and put on record they found him to be a dangerous individual to any females under the age of 18 years old in the community. The court also stated that he is considered to be dangerous to the children involved in this case, as well as their mother.  Troy Cannon is being held in jail due to these circumstances. He will be in court on July 2nd.  I spoke to a detective about this case early on, and he stated that he would urge anyone that is a victim to come forward and speak to the Marion County Sheriff's Department.  We are so proud of the victims that came forward.

 An 11-year-old Florida girl was killed and her 8-year-old cousin was seriously injured in a tubing accident while celebrating the end of the school year. 8-year-old Lalia and 9-year-old Brylee were spending a fun day barbecuing and playing on the water with their 11-year-old cousin Jordan on Friday, June 20th. The girls were spending the day with their aunt and uncle while their mother, Kristine Robinson, was in the NICU with her newborn 'micro-preemie' baby.  This fun family outing quickly turned to tragedy while the three young girls were tubing. Reports on how the incident unfolded are unclear, but regardless of how it happened, the results were devastating. At some point, while tubing, the 3 girls crashed while in the tube. The accident claimed the life of 11-year-old Jordan and left 8-year-old Lalia severely injured.  Although details aren't readily available, Lalia's mother Kristine has stated that Jordan died as a hero, sacrificing herself for her younger cousin...

 Amber Alert issued for Idaho children that were kidnapped by a fundamentalist group. 15-year-old Rochelle and 13-year-old Allen Fischer were last seen at approximately 7.p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd in Monteview, Idaho.  The two siblings' mother believes they have been taken by a Christian fundamentalist group of which she was once a member. Elizabeth Roundy said her and her children were part of FLDS, a group with ties to the Church of Latter Day Saints. Roundy explained that after being granted custody of her two kids, the group completely took over the children. She stated they actively tried to keep her separate from her children.  Recently, the members of the group sent Roundy away; saying that she needed to repent. After being sent away to repent, Roundy began to question the groups motives. She then decided she needed to get her children and make a clean break from the group.  MAN UNTRACEABLE AFTER DEPOSITING N45M FOR CAR SINCE 2023 A car dealer has been unable to trace a customer that paid N45 million for a car but refused to collect it since 2023. According to a X post by the CEO of Echidiime Motors Limited, the customer paid for the car but has not made any contact to collect it. The customer acquired via TikTok but his social media account is now deleted and no way to trace him out. “A client paid for a vehicle worth ₦45 million and ghosted us since 2023. We’ve tried calling, texting, and reaching out to his bank—but nothing. His TikTok account has been deleted too.” The auto dealer also said the bank that processed the payment refused to give out information about the man or assist in any way, leaving the dealership to cry out on social media.

 Tinubu met Davido, Jandor but denied me access – Ex-presidential aide, Audu President Bola Tinubu’s former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has tackled the president over non-access to him while working in the presidency. Audu said he never met with Tinubu during his almost two years working as his spokesman. A few weeks ago, Audu had resigned from his position as SSA on Public Affairs.
