ATIKU MEETS GOODLUCK JONATHAN IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS).

Image
Atiku Meets Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday paid a visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja. The encounter is their first since Jonathan returned from an election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau. Sharing pictures of the meeting on his verified social media platforms on Sunday, Atiku wrote, “It was a pleasure catching up with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening, following his recent return from Guinea-Bissau.” Jonathan, who served as President from 2010 to 2015, lost his re-election bid in 2015 to Muhammadu Buhari. The visit comes days after Atiku’s official defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), having resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party over claims that the party had strayed from the principles of its founding fathers. There are indications that Atiku may emerge as the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. One more photo below.

Judge overturns convictions in 2002 murder of NBA star Chris Paul’s grandfather A North Carolina judge has vacated the convictions of four men previously found guilty in the 2002 death of NBA star Chris Paul’s grandfather, Nathaniel Jones, prompting state prosecutors to consider an appeal. Superior Court Judge Robert Broadie issued the ruling last week after a January hearing in Forsyth County, citing recanted testimony from a key witness, inadequate legal representation, and questionable police conduct. DNA evidence also supported the defendants’ claims that their confessions were false and that they were not at the scene when Jones, 61, was tied up, beaten, and robbed outside his Winston-Salem home, suffering a fatal heart attack. The defendants—Nathaniel Arnold Cauthen, Rayshawn Denard Banner, Christopher Levon Bryant, and Jermal Matthew Tolliver—were 14 or 15 at the time of their arrests. Cauthen and Banner, convicted of first-degree murder, are serving life sentences, while B...
