 LAGOS STATE TRIUMPHS AT 2025 WORLD ROBOT OLYMPIAD IN SINGAPORE The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has commended the outstanding performance of its students at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2025 International Final held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore, the birthplace of the WRO Initiative, between November 26 to 28, 2025. The Lagos State 17-Man team, led by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, including officials and coaching crew, represented Nigeria in multiple categories of events, showcasing their skills in robotics and STEM Education.  South Sudan deploys troops to secure key Heglig oil field in Sudan South Sudan has sent its troops to neighbouring Sudan to guard the strategic Heglig oil field near the border, its military head said on Thursday, days after the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of it. Heglig houses the main processing facility for South Sudanese oil, which makes up the bulk of South Sudan's public revenues. Some oil has continued to flow through Heglig, though at much reduced volumes. Sudanese government forces and workers at the Heglig oil field withdrew from the area on Sunday to avoid fighting that could have damaged facilities there, government sources told Reuters on Monday.  The mother of the three children who passed away in a Thanksgiving day fire is wanting answers after their father was the only person who made it out alive.  We originally shared this heartbreaking story the day after the devastating Thanksgiving Eve fire that claimed the lives of three beautiful children in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  At that time, the fire hadn't been thoroughly investigated, and information pertaining to its cause and how the events of the evening played, was scarce at best.  However, after a weeks-long investigation, there are still many questions left unanswered. The children's mother, Jourdan Feasbly, is pushing for answers regarding her ex and the children's father that day.  Keyamo blames high airfares on plane scarcity, says FG engaging airline operators Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace development, has blamed the current high airfares on domestic routes on aircraft scarcity, and insufficient maintenance infrastructure. The senate had summoned Keyamo, and key industry stakeholders for an urgent meeting over the sharp rise in domestic airfares. The resolution followed a motion raised by Abdulfatai Buhari, senator representing Oyo north, who warned that the escalating prices threaten national mobility and could disrupt travel ahead of the festive season. Speaking with journalists after the federal executive council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, Keyamo said the federal government has no power to regulate or cap ticket prices charged by airlines.

 8 UNIJOS STUDENTS DIE AS TRAILER RUNS INTO BUS ON ZARIA ROAD 11th December, 2025  A somber mood enveloped Jos on Thursday after eight students of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) lost their lives in a catastrophic crash along the busy Zaria Road corridor in the early hours of the morning. The students were returning from a night outing around 2:00 a.m. in two hired buses when disaster struck. According to accounts from the two survivors, one of the vehicles was violently hit from behind by a speeding trailer shortly after crossing the Zaria Road Stadium. The force of the impact sent the bus spiraling out of control until it crashed into an electric pole near the Farin Gada bridge. The wreckage was torn apart, killing all eight occupants including the driver  on the spot.
