 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.  Alleged $12 Million Money Laundering Charge: Absence of SunTrust Bank MD Stalls Arraignment The scheduled arraignment of Halima Buba, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of SunTrust Bank Ltd, and Innocent Mbagwu, the bank’s Executive Director/Chief Compliance Officer, was on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, stalled due to the absence of the defendants in court. The case, brought before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, involves allegations of a $12 million fraud leveled against the two top executives by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. A senior official at the Ministry of Mines said the decision was taken to free unused resources for other investors. "We've simplified it by digitising the whole system, which can now be better controlled," the official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity. The United States has stopped giving new interview dates for student visas at embassies across the globe, though interviews already booked will continue as planned. The Trump administration is set to make stricter rules on social media account checks of foreign students. The order was issued through a diplomatic cable sent on Tuesday, May 27, by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. “Effective immediately, in preparation for an expansion of required social media screening and vetting, consular sections should not add any additional student or exchange visitor (F, M and J) visa appointment capacity until further guidance is issued,” Rubio wrote. According to the cable, more detailed instructions will be provided soon. The latest move comes as the administration is tightening entry rules for foreign students, citing threats to national security and concerns around campus unrest.

  Blackburn Community Had a Fruitful Meeting With Six Suspected Criminals Over Crime Allegations  Tensions flared in Blackburn on Monday morning when an enraged community threatened to douse six men with petrol and set them alight over a series of alleged crimes in the area. The incident began when a mob apprehended four men and assaulted them in an attempt to extract information about two suspects wanted for criminal activity. With the information obtained, the group tracked down the remaining suspects. The six men were marched to a local soccer field, where their hands were tied with ropes and electrical cables. They were then beaten with sticks and planks, and the crowd threatened to torch them.  A sweet 13-year-old Ohio boy lost his life after falling from a float during a Memorial Day parade. This tragedy unfolded at 11:23 a.m. in Green, Ohio during the town's memorial day parade. The unidentified teen was riding on a trailer that was being used as a float.  As the float made its way down the street, the teen slipped and fell from the front of the trailer. Sadly, upon falling from the trailer, the teen was struck by the trailer's tires.  The juvenile sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Akron City Hospital where medical staff desperately attempted to save his life. Unfortunately, despite all of their efforts, the young boy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  An Alabama man is facing animal cruelty charges after he killed a chihuahua because it barks too much. The man baked the Chihuahua in the oven.... His face should be known.  This shocking incident occurred on May 19th in Atmore, Alabama. Neighbors of 44-year-old James Williamson (pictured below) reported hearing "pained and desperate yelps" coming from the home of Williamson.  As officers arrived on scene, they were met with a heartbreaking scene. A very small chihuahua was laying in the driveway deceased with obvious signs of having been fatally burned. Sergeant McMann with Atmore P.D. said he was "so shocked by what he saw that he had to take a moment to get himself together".  After questioning involved individuals, the disturbing story emerged.
