 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation.  Southern China hit by chikungunya mosquito-borne outbreak China is currently facing an outbreak of chikungunya, a mosquito-borne illness, with thousands of cases reported in the southern region. As of Friday, the number of confirmed chikungunya fever cases surged to 4,014, a sharp increase since local authorities began tracking infections about two weeks ago. The city of Foshan, in Guangdong province, has been particularly hard hit by the outbreak. Chikungunya is transmitted through the bites of infected mosquitoes and typically causes fever and intense joint pain, though deaths are rare, according to the World Health Organization. Our KAI enforcement team immediately conducted a raid, leading to the arrest of one Mrs. Kehinde Raji who was caught engaging in this criminal activity. Prosecutor Arrested for Using Fake Law Degree A 33-year-old man who worked as a public prosecutor has been arrested for allegedly faking his law qualifications to secure employment in the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). Luthando Nomandindi appeared before the Mthatha Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday, 22 July 2025, facing charges of fraud, forgery, and uttering. His arrest followed a thorough investigation by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit, in partnership with the NPA. According to the Hawks, Nomandindi was registered at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) between 2010 and 2016 but failed to complete his LLB degree. Despite this, he allegedly submitted a fake degree certificate and forged Legal Education and Development (L.E.A.D) attendance records in 2020 to apply for the NPA’s Aspirant Prosecutor Programme. The outbreak, first reported on Sunday in the Shiroro Local Government Area, has since spread to Bosso, Minna, Magama, Bida, and Munya LGAs, with health officials confirming escalating cases across the affected councils. Sources revealed that Chanchaga (Minna), Bosso, and Shiroro were among the hardest-hit areas, prompting an emergency health response from the state government.  FG Moves to Repatriate Stranded Nigerians from CAR The Federal Government has retrieved the passports of stranded Nigerians in the Central African Republic and is working to repatriate them.  A military-escorted vehicle has been dispatched to evacuate them from Bambari to Bangui. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with local authorities and the workers' employers to ensure their safety, welfare, and return to Nigeria.

 Suspects Confess to Abduction of Bayelsa Judge, Eight Arrested Eight suspects linked to the June 21, 2025, abduction of Justice Ebiyerin Omukoro, a Bayelsa State judge, have been paraded by security agencies in Yenagoa, detailing their roles in the crime.  NERC to States: Slash Tariffs, Pay the Subsidy The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has warned that states cutting electricity tariffs must cover the shortfall through subsidies. This comes after Enugu State reduced Band A tariffs from N209/kWh to N160/kWh. NERC stated that states lack control over the national grid and must reflect full generation and transmission costs in their pricing or risk distorting the power market. Power firms and industry groups criticized the move, stressing that only states generating and distributing their own power can set tariffs. NERC is now engaging Enugu authorities over the decision.

 Students Now Hide Phones in Their Prîvaté Parts to Bring to School – SHS Headmaster Sounds Alarm Zebilla Senior High School headmaster, Richard Akumbasa, has expressed concern over the growing rate at which Senior High School students smuggle mobile phones into their dormitories. He stated that some even smuggle these telecommunication gadgets in their prîvaté parts just to make calls in their dormitories. Speaking in an interview on Dreamz FM’s Breakfast Today show, he said,  “There are times the girls will hide it [phone] in their prîvaté parts, others hide it in their shito and gari and enter school.”  Mr Akumbas is expressing bewilderment at students’ determination to circumvent school rules.  Lil Win Cries Out As Fan Shares His Movie Being Shown on TV Station for Free Despite Being Available on Amazon Prime Kumawood actor and filmmaker, Lil Win, has taken to social media to express his displeasure at Ghanaian television stations for showing his movies without his consent.  He shared a video of his movie being telecast that was posted on TikTok by one of his fans, claiming that they were enjoying his 2024  movie, A Country Called Ghana.  Tragedy in Lokoja: Photographer Butchered by Colleague in Office Incident A tragic incident has rocked Lokoja as Mr. Ayo Aiyepeku, a creative photographer, was gruesomely killed and dismembered by his colleague, Adebayo, near the Kogi Chieftaincy Lodge, close to the Government House. The attack reportedly occurred in their office while both were working on editing tasks late at night. Adebayo allegedly lured Ayo outside, struck him fatally, and hid his dismembered body parts in a fridge behind his Hilux vehicle. A witness quietly alerted the police, prompting a chase. Adebayo escaped, abandoning his damaged vehicle. He is said to be a staff member of the Nigerian Correctional Service and had previously assaulted his wife, who recently fled to Abuja. Police are now on a manhunt for the suspect.

Abba announced this initiative on Monday at the Kudan LGA Secretariat during the inauguration of the informal sector enrollment campaign by the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA).
