Speaking during his sermon titled “The Winning Team” at RCCG’s monthly Thanksgiving service held at the Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye applauded President Bola Tinubu for the financial gesture extended to the victorious team but maintained that coaches, such as Justin Madugu, deserved the same treatment as the players. “I appreciate the President for rewarding the Falcons,” Adeboye said. “But I find it difficult to understand why the coaches would get less. The players are stars, yes, but without the guidance of their coaches, there would be no victory. Coaches matter deeply, God bless them,” h...

Inter Miami say Messi out indefinitely with ‘minor muscle injury’ Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi will be sidelined indefinitely with what the MLS team described as a “minor muscle injury in his right leg” in a statement on Sunday. The 38-year-old Argentine legend suffered an upper right leg injury early in Miami’s penalty-kicks home win over Mexico’s Necaxa on Saturday in a Leagues Cup match. Messi went out in the 11th minute but walked off the field and into the locker room. Messi “underwent medical tests to evaluate the extent of the muscle discomfort he experienced,” which forced him out of the match, Inter Miami said in its statement. “The results confirmed a minor muscle injury in his right leg. His medical clearance will depend on his clinical progress and response to treatment,” the club said. That means there is no timetable for a return by the Miami talisman, who shares the MLS season lead with 18 goals and also has nine assists in 18 matches. Jordi Alba, who netted an equal...

The condemnation was issued in a statement by the Church’s Primate, The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, on Monday, August 4, 2025. In the statement, Ndukuba described Vann’s election as evidence of a broader issue within the Anglican Communion, referencing 2 Timothy 4:3–4 to argue that “many who claim to be members of the body of Christ can’t endure sound doctrine.” The Church accused Bishop Vann of contributing to the ongoing crisis surrounding same-sex marriage within the Anglican Church, further straining relations among its global members. “The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) will not recognize the election of Rt. "It happened in 2009/2010. It was not a medical condition.  “I am not a Christian or a Muslim, I am a Babalawo. I am an African. I am a traditionalist. The first time I experienced ifa was when I was vomiting blood. Someone referred me to ifa. I just wished that I had known ifa at the beginning.” The multiple awards winner said he understood why legendary Afrobeats superstar Fela Anikulapo Kuti embraced African traditional religion now.

PETER OBI AND HIS WRONG EXAMPLES- BAYO ONANUGA. (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE

Image
Peter Obi and his wrong examples Peter Obi, the aspiring presidential candidate of the fledgling opposition party, must have flunked history in school. In justifying his so-called ‘sacrosanct’ pledge to serve only one term of four years, he cited Abraham Lincoln, JFK, and Nelson Mandela as leaders he wanted to emulate. A simple fact check by a politician who always challenges his gullible and unthinking mob to verify his statements would have revealed that he quoted the wrong examples. Obi would have found that Lincoln, at the time he was assassinated, had finished his first term, had won re-election, and had been sworn in for a second term. Lincoln began his first term on March 4, 1861. He won re-election on November 8, 1864, and was sworn in on March 4, 1865, before his assassination on April 15, 1865. John F. Kennedy, who shared a similar tragic fate with Lincoln, came into office on 20 January 1960 as the 35th President of the United States. He was assassinated on November 22,...

THINGS YOU SHOULDN’T DO FOR A MAN- BY FUNKE EGBEMODE. (PHOTO).

Image
Things you shouldn’t do for a man By Funke Egbemode Patty was in pain, deep searing pain. She was not supposed to be in this place, end up at this sorry pass. She gave Alhaji her all, the relationship her everything. Relationship?  Was what they had even worth calling a relationship? Looking back from her balcony of grief, all she could see now was a one-winged flight that eventually crashed spectacularly. The pain wracking her body and soul was made worse by the feeling of foolishness. You know how you feel when you finally realized you’ve been used, had, taken advantage of and you allowed it all to happen, with your eyes wide open. Patty wept and howled. She cursed and creamed but unless an uncommon miracle happens tomorrow, Alhaji was lost forever, her heart shattered into smithereens, her self-esteem in the mud. What really happened? Patty and Alhaji were an item for four solid years. Alhaji’s two wives and children knew Patty as the ‘latest sisi’ in Alhaji’s life. He’d s...

Speaking during a televised interview, Keyamo said Nigerians have become more politically discerning and are aware of the opposition’s gimmicks, which he claimed are nothing more than recycled strategies dressed up for public appeal. “I know them very well, and they know us very well. These tactics they are employing are expired. They are 419 formats that have been used over the years. I was an EFCC prosecutor. I know those formats. Nigerians know them too. You cannot deceive Nigerians with these expired formats again,” he said. Keyamo accused the opposition of manipulating economic data and amplifying isolated incidents to project a false im...

Posting on X, Adeyanju said the North controls opposition politics while President Bola Tinubu controls the South. He wrote: “In my view, if Obi sees Atiku VP this time, he should rush to church to give testimony. “He no longer holds any vital card, the Northerner political actors now hold all the aces for 2027 as opposition politics while Tinubu controls the southern chess board.” Adeyanju also suggested that President Tinubu will emerge victorious in 2027. “As of today, I see a Tinubu victory in 2027. In a video posted on her official page, Iyabo Ojo dismissed claims that she led a secret WhatsApp group created to derail justice for Mohbad. She warned that leaking private chats without consent is a criminal offence, hinting that legal steps could follow if such material is made public. “It’s a crime to post private chats, and I’m sure you know the law,” she said pointedly, addressing VeryDarkMan directly. “But if the right authorities request it, I have people who can provide it. I’ve already left the group.” Her response comes a week after VeryDarkMan, accused Ojo of heading a covert WhatsApp group used to manipulate public opinion and orchestrate his arrest. In a passionate statement released via social media, Obi invoked the legacies of iconic global leaders such as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Nelson Mandela to emphasise that the true measure of leadership is not time in office, but service to the people. “One of the greatest American Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, served only four years, yet his legacy endures as a model of principled leadership,” Obi wrote. “Another iconic figure, John F. Kennedy, did not even complete a full term, yet his vision and ideals continue to inspire generations. In Africa, Nelson Mandela, revered globally as a symbol of justice and reconciliation, chose to serve only one term as Pr...

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is leading the charge against the plan, describing it as an “outrageous abuse of public funds” and accusing the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of attempting to “re-award and re-loot” a terminal that was only recently commissioned under former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022. In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Kennedy Odion, the ADC demanded a public inquiry into the renovation deal. “Nigerians are not idiots....
