 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor.  Two Zimbos Arrested with Dagga Worth Over R79,000 Near Beitbridge In a major drug bust, Limpopo police arrested two Zimbabwean nationals and seized dagga worth over R79,000 during an early morning operation on Friday, 7 March 2025. The arrests took place along the N1 road near MOJ Petroleum, close to the Beitbridge Port of Entry. At around 03:20, officers stopped and searched two sedans traveling in the area. In the first vehicle, a white sedan with Gauteng registration, they found 11 bags of dagga weighing 157.8 kg, valued at R66,276. The 45-year-old driver was immediately taken into custody. The second vehicle, a grey Ford Focus with Limpopo registration, was driven by a 47-year-old suspect. A search uncovered 14 bags of dagga and four suitcases filled with the drug, totaling 187.8 kg and valued at R794,394. Both suspects were arrested and charged with dealing in and possession of dagga.  Gunmen KILL Chairman Of Miyetti Allah Herders' Union In Kwara Idrissu Abubakar, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kwara State, was shot dead on Saturday by unidentified gunmen. A statement from MACBAN revealed that armed men with sophisticated weapons stormed Abubakar's residence at around 10:00 pm and fatally shot him. The incident occurred at his Oke Ose, Oke-Oyi residence in Kwara State, as reported by the group's National Secretary-General, Bello Aliyu Gotomo. Gotomo noted that Abubakar's murder comes two months after his Katsina State counterpart, Sirajo Ahmad Mairana, was killed in similar circumstances. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has said the suspension of the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, is a settled case and would not be reversed, despite criticisms from chieftains of the opposition parties. Akpabio made the remarks at the weekend while addressing a delegation of the Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Forum which paid him a solidarity visit in Abuja.  DRC Authorities Offer $5 Million Reward for Help in Capturing Rebel Leaders The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has offered a $5 million reward to anyone who can help authorities arrest three leaders of rebel groups operating in the east of the country, according to Sputnik. "Anyone who ensures the arrest of convicted individuals Corneille Nangaa, Bertrand Bisimwa, and Sultani Makenga will receive a $5 million reward.  10,000 electric vehicles for Nigeria's North-East The Tinubu administration will soon begin mass electric vehicle transportation in northeast Nigeria, with the Federal Executive Council clearing the last obstacle to implementing the plan. Last week, the Council approved contracts worth almost $100 million, or N151.9 billion, to supply buses and tricycles and establish charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The council approved the contract for the supply of ten 17-seater electric buses. Bluecrest Integrated Concept Limited, the beneficiary, will supply the buses within six months for N2.9 billion. U. S. SECRET SERVICE AGENTS SHOT AN ARMED MAN AFTER A CONFRONTATION TODAY. (PHOTO).

 An armed man believed to be traveling from Indiana was shot by U.S. Secret Service agents near the White House after a confrontation early Sunday, according to authorities.  No one else was injured in the shooting that happened around midnight about a block from the White House, according to a Secret Service statement. President Donald Trump was in Florida at the time of the shooting.  The Secret Service received information from local police about an alleged "suicidal individual" who was traveling from Indiana and found the man's car and a person matching his description nearby.  "As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel," the Secret Service said in a statement.  The man was hospitalized. The Secret Service said his condition was "unknown."
