Chinese scientists are working on the world’s first “gestation robot” that could potentially give birth to a live baby, according to a report by The Telegraph.  The machine is being developed to imitate a natural pregnancy, allowing a fetus to grow from conception to delivery inside an artificial womb. Nutrients would be supplied through a tube, similar to how a mother’s body supports a child during pregnancy. The project is being led by Dr Zhang Qifeng, a scientist from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, through Guangzhou-based Kaiwa Technology. Dr Zhang has said that the technology is already in a “mature stage” and is now being prepared to be implanted in the robot’s abdomen. This would allow real human interaction with the robot while the fetus grows inside. A prototype is expected to be launched in 2026, with an estimated cost of about 100,000 yuan (around $14,000). If successful, the robot could provide a new solution for infertile couples or individuals who wish ...

Burrows further required that Democrats who previously broke quorum and faced arrest warrants could only leave if released into the custody of a DPS officer who would ensure their return for Wednesday’s session.  STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE  NIGERIA’S PARTICIPATION AT TICAD 9: FOCUSING ON STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENTS, NOT TRADE EXPOS The trending social media narrative about an empty booth labelled 'NIGERIA' at the ongoing 9th Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, Japan,  totally misrepresented our country's mission and activities at the conference. While we understand the urge by many social media users to seek clicks with many incorrect posts, we also recognise that the author may have acted out of patriotic concern. But it is a concern inspired by ignorance about Nigeria’s mission at the triennial conference.  The Nigerian delegation to the summit, led by President Bola Tinubu, is laser-focused on its core objectives of achieving tangible outcomes from the scheduled lineup of bilateral and multilateral engagements targeted at driving optimum performance in key sectors of the economy, especially in power, industry and agriculture.  The Nig...

TRUMP’S JUSTICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATING POSSIBLE FALSIFICATION OF CRIME DATA BY DC POLICE OFFICIALS. (PHOTO).

Image
Trump’s Justice Department investigating possible falsification of crime data by DC police officials The Justice Department has launched an investigation into whether Washington, D.C., police officials manipulated crime data to make the city’s crime rates appear lower, according to a source familiar with the probe who was not authorized to speak publicly. The inquiry comes amid a politically charged dispute between the Trump administration and the city over control of the police department, though it is unclear which federal laws may have been violated if the allegations are confirmed. President Donald Trump has argued that violent crime in the capital is rising, prompting him to order a federal takeover of the city’s police department and deploy hundreds of National Guard members to the streets. Critics note that Trump has overstated public safety concerns, as crime rates in Washington have generally declined in recent years. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office declined to comment, and ...

GIANT PYTHON SPOTTED NEAR SCHOOL CAMPUS IN SOUTH CAROLINA. (PHOTO).

Giant python spotted near school campus in South Carolina A large python was safely captured in Newberry County after being spotted near Mid-Carolina High School, close to the town of Prosperity. Sheriff Lee Foster said on social media that Warren Gallman and several friends managed to secure the massive snake without incident. While its exact length is unclear, photos from the scene show three people holding the reptile. Authorities believe the snake, which appears to be an albino python, was likely a released pet, as this type of snake is not native to South Carolina. Foster praised Gallman and his friends for their quick response, calling them “brave people and great Americans.” While pythons have become an invasive species in Florida, South Carolina does not currently face the same issue. Wildlife officials caution that releasing exotic pets can be dangerous for both humans and native wildlife. Authorities have not yet disclosed the snake’s next destination.

Pulte, who chairs the Federal Housing Finance Agency, posted a letter to the attorney general claiming that Cook “has falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud under the criminal statutes.” According to the letter, Cook took out a mortgage on a Michigan home listed as her principal residence, and shortly afterward obtained a mortgage on an Atlanta condominium also described as her primary residence. Pulte’s letter states that she later listed the Atlanta condo as a rental property in 2022, despite having represented it as her main home in mortgage documents.
