DIRECTOR CONVICTED OF $11M NETFLIX SCAM AND LAVISH SPENDING SPREE. (PHOTO).

Director convicted of $11M Netflix scam and lavish spending spree  Hollywood director Carl Erik Rinsch was convicted Thursday of scamming Netflix out of $11 million intended for a television project that never came to fruition. Instead of using the funds to complete the sci-fi show “White Horse,” prosecutors said Rinsch spent the money on extravagant personal purchases, including five Rolls-Royces, a Ferrari, luxury watches, designer clothing, and approximately $1 million on mattresses and high-end bedding. Rinsch, 48, was found guilty of wire fraud, money laundering, and related charges. According to prosecutors, Netflix had initially invested around $44 million in the production and provided an additional $11 million at Rinsch’s request to finish the project. Rather than applying the funds to production, Rinsch funneled the money into personal accounts, making a series of failed investments that quickly depleted about half of the $11 million. He later invested some of the r...

Skydiver hangs 15,000 feet after parachute snags on plane tail in Australia   Australian investigators have released striking footage showing a skydiver caught by his parachute on an airplane’s tail, leaving him suspended at roughly 4,500 meters (15,000 feet). The incident involved skydiver Adrian Ferguson, who used a hook knife to free himself, sustaining only minor leg injuries. The accident occurred on September 20 at Tully Airport in Queensland, where a Cessna Caravan carrying Ferguson, 16 other parachutists, and a videographer had reached the altitude for a planned 16-way formation jump. The videographer, acting as a 17th parachutist, was positioned at the open door to film the jump. According to the report, Ferguson’s reserve parachute ripcord snagged on a wing flap as he exited the plane, causing the chute to pull him backward. In the process, he struck the plane’s horizontal stabilizer and dislodged the camera operator, who fell safely. Ferguson then cut 11 lines of th...

Former NBA player Jason Collins diagnosed with brain cancer Jason Collins, the NBA’s first openly gay player and current league ambassador, is undergoing treatment for Stage 4 glioblastoma, a severe form of brain cancer. Collins revealed the update in a Thursday interview, explaining that his family had previously shared a vague statement in September about his brain tumor to protect his privacy while he was processing the diagnosis. Collins described that doctors discovered a baseball-sized mass in his brain in late August and warned that without treatment, his life expectancy would have been six weeks to three months. Even following standard U.S. care, he would face an estimated 13 months to live. Seeking alternative options, Collins and his husband traveled to Singapore for experimental chemotherapy not available in the U.S., where they plan to stay for at least six weeks as he pursues treatment. Collins made history in 2013 as the first openly gay athlete in any of the four ma...

The pre-recorded message will air at 8 p.m. on Britain’s Channel 4, allowing the king to reflect on the 22 months since he publicly revealed he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer. Charles’s choice to disclose his health condition marked a shift from the traditional discretion of British royals, who rarely share personal medical details. Buckingham Palace stated at the time that the king hoped sharing his diagnosis would prevent speculation and support public understanding for those affected by cancer worldwide. Since then, Charles has consistently used his story to emphasize the importance of early detection and treatment. Following the announcement of his diagnosi...
